Elegant 1920s Wedding Inspiration in the Heart of Rome from L&V Photography
Oh I have such a treat for you, for this morning I am whisking you away to Rome!! Today’s wedding inspiration shoot from Rosenvoile oozes Art Deco opulence, and was captured by L&V Photography on a gloriously sunny Spring day in the very heart of Italy’s capital, at the stunning Acquario Romano …..
Delightfully romantic, glimmering with touches of gold and abounding in Gatsby-esque glamour, the fabulous styling and gorgeous backdrop of this shoot will take your breath away. From the pretty florals by Nina e i fiori, to the decadent wedding cake by Fonderia, dapper groom and beautiful bride’s attire – just wait until you see her exquisite updo!, it is 1920s elegance at its very best!
Before we glimpse all of the gorgeousness though, a little something about the location and inspiration for the styled shoot from the talented ladies behind it Camilla and Cristina from Rosenvoile “The ancient city of Rome doesn’t just offer ancient ruins and Roman columns, it offers just about everything one desires. A magical place located right in the heart of the city, near the main train station, is the Roman Aquarium. Built at the end of 1800s, this elliptical building was a meeting place for the elegant ‘bourgeoisie’ of the Esquiline Hill. Today it location can be hired to hold private events and exclusive weddings.
Inspired by the theatre and majesty of the architecture, we decided to revive our favourite era by and create an elegant 1920s atmosphere. With the bride in an elegant dress and chic art-deco inspired hairstyle and her groom dressed in an original suit of the great sartorial customs of Como. After welcoming the guests in the main courtyard, the imaginary wedding party then takes place inside where the bride and groom change into a more suitable Great Gatsby attire: her into a precious lace green dress and him into an immaculate tuxedo.
Every detail of the wedding has been carefully considered and chosen to recall the 1920s such as feathers, gold, mirrors, candles, rum & cigar corner and the unequivocal Champagne. All of these details take us back to an era of elegant refinement, great luxury and unmistakable style.”
Isn’t it beautiful?? I have always wanted to visit Italy (it’s where Mr E and I would have spent our honeymoon had we not been moving to New Zealand 4 weeks after we got married) but even more so after this shoot! I can’t think of anywhere more romantic for a destination wedding, or more perfect for an extended Honeymoon stay.
A huge thank-you to the whole team involved for creating such a vision of loveliness and especially to Leti & Viola from L&V Photography for allowing me to share each and every gorgeous detail with you here.
