The Finest Vintage Inspired Bridal Gowns from NYC Bridal Fashion Week
If a vintage wedding dress, like the fabulous frocks I featured in Exquisite Vintage Bridal Gowns from The Frock, isn’t for you but you still want a vintage inspired wedding or theme, then despair not! Many of the oh so talented designers of today have been drawing inspiration from eras gone by for their recent collections and 2012 is no exception.

NYC Bridal Fashion week, last week, saw the top designers showcasing their latest collection with so many, clearly vintage inspired, absolutely breathtaking gowns! I have picked a few of my favourites (all from designers stocked and available in Australia and New Zealand) inspired by fashion from the 1920s through to the 1970s……
The Golden era of Art Deco, the flapper and silent silver screen sirens – knee length or floor length, think feathers, rich fabrics and embellishments……

Or for a more modern feel but still with an Art Deco feel, this gorgeous gown with geometric bodice and decadent net skirt……

There is nothing I love more than a vintage inspired gown with a splash of colour (as you will know if you’re read my Utterly Gorgeous Gowns for the Unconventional Bride post), so imagine my joy when I came across these delectable dresses in the 2012 collections……

As ever, Vera Wang was by far the most bold with colour, without a single white or ivory dress in her Fall collection, instead pairing black with pretty nude colours – bold, brave and incredibly beautiful!
