Sarka and Michal love hiking, mountains and snow. So of course when it came to their big day, it had to be a Winter wedding, in a cosy lodge with a big fireplace in Slavkov Forest – a beautiful, protected range of mountains in the Czech Republic, that just happened to have a truly epic amount of snow this year…….

Our beautiful bride Sarka shared all about their magical day…. “The wedding we envisioned was very relaxed. We wanted our guests to enjoy mulled wine during the ceremony and in the evening a camp fire outside the lodge on which sausages could be toasted.

Michal cooked 20 kg of deer goulash two days before the wedding, which took him 7 hours. We also created wooden name tags ourselves for each of our guests.

We wanted to have a winter wedding because we both love mountains and snow and Kladska natural protected area is a beautiful place away from civilization with no phone reception. The Kladska hunter’s lodge with its rich collection of trophies was picked because the groom is a hunter.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT

A journey to the ceremony place, wooden bower on a lake, led through a narrow snowy forrest path which took about 10 minutes. Guests went one after another chatting, throwing snowballs and at the end there was a mulled wine waiting for them.

SPLURGE & SAVE

Major part of our budget was used on cattering and beverages as we felt it’s the most important thing for the guests. We wanted everyone to feel welcomed.

THE DRESS

I wanted to wear something simple that suited raw winter and nature. Therefore a long skirt, fur hat, scarfs and gloves were an obvious choice.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

We found Carol on social networks and felt in love with her photos of nature weddings. It was the perfect fit for our style. After our first meeting in Prague we were confident she was the right choice. She was very subtle during the ceremony and afterwards we had a lot of fun during the shooting session in the forrest.
