Heavenly Lace Wedding Dresses from Emily Riggs
For some time now there has been one name synonymous with utterly romantic lace wedding dresses, and its none of the ones you might expect – I am not talking Monique Lhuillier, or Elie Saab, or any of the big designer names you see grace the runways of New York each year! Oh no, this is a new name who has taken the wedding world by storm and toppled all those couture designer giants we know and love. In fact, if I had my time again, she is the designer I would wear! I am of course talking of Emily Riggs…..
If you’ve never seen one before, it is hard to describe the beauty of one of her gowns…. with a design style that is utterly unique Emily Riggs captures the romance of eras past like no designer before, with dresses that are unashamedly feminine and truly timeless. Her designs epitomise the modern vintage aesthetic you and I love so much, with their dramatic skirts, exquisite necklines, and elegant lace sleeves.
What gives her wedding dresses an extra facet of breathtaking beauty though, is her daring use of colour. Shying away from convention she introduces lilac, seafoam, a bronze hued vintage blush and black! And her gowns, as you would expect, are created from only the most opulent of materials, we’re talking silk tulle, delicate French lace, Italian silk taffeta and silk crepe, fabrics that move as beautifully as they look.
These designs from Emily’s latest collection really are just divine, so be sure to have your pinning finger ready before you scroll through these heavenly bridal gowns…..
You may recognise the beautiful Ophelia from this oh so lovely Spring English garden wedding shoot by Maria Lamb, which so perfectly highlighted how the pretty shade of this gown perfectly suits a garden setting!
My favourite would, I think, have to be the Nightingale! Heavenly in every sense of the word it is light, airy and ethereal yet refined. Its breathtaking skirt has 2 layers of dusky gray blue silk, along with another 2 layers of light tulle and a lovely long flowing train. Whilst the French floral lace top with its deep plunging neckline (which can actually be modified for a more demure look) and 3/4 length sleeves
Of course if you’re really looking to make a style statement, then you couldn’t get any more dramatic than the Valentina! With an ivory lace top featuring a deep plunging neckline and the most amazing full black skirt of Italian silk taffetta, this is a dress for the bold bride. And you can it as its bewitching best in this stunning shoot by Maria Lamb!
Or for something a little more traditional, but no less romantic, then I don’t think you can get any prettier than the Primavere with its French floral lace top in vintage blush…..
