An Elegant Modern-Vintage Wedding with a Marquee Reception
WHITE IMAGESToday’s elegant modern-vintage wedding took place at a beautiful private property out in Eerwah Vale – Capriole Estate, which with Mount Eerwah as a backdrop made for some truly magical photographs from White Images. Every single detail of Suzi & James’s 5 day celebration is perfection, so have your pinning finger ready as you enjoy their magical day…
That’s right, Suzi & James knew that one day would never be enough to celebrate with their family and friends, so instead planned a relaxed five day event that would give everyone the time to really revel in the love. I will let the lovely bride tell you more….. “I’ve lived in Australia for just over 10 years but all my family live in New Zealand, so it was really important to us to have our wedding at a venue where we could all stay together for a few nights and really let our hair down. Capriole Estate really catered for that, it was seriously the best 5 nights. In fact, we all had that much fun that we are now talking about making it an annual trip!”
Abounding with greenery that perfectly compliments the chic colour palette of white and navy, the couples modern-vintage wedding is rustic elegance at its very best…..
Don’t you just love the long sleeves and plunging back on her Marilyn Crystelle dress? Stunning! “My dress was a bit of a splurge, but it was worth it. I was just in love with my dress and felt a million dollars on the day.”
The bouquets by Simply Style Co. were a beautiful mix of roses, ranunculus, stock, Pieris Japonica all in white, with eucalyptus.
“We had our ceremony down by the damn on the lower part of the property, with the breathtaking view of Mount Eerwah as our backdrop.”
“Capriole Estate is on quite a few acres so we were so lucky we didn’t have to leave the venue. We had 87 guests so we had the reception up on the top part of the property in a clear marquee.”
“I met up Chelsea from Simply Style Co 1 year out from our wedding and we just clicked. I had an example of what I was thinking, she asked all the right questions and understood exactly what I was after. She came back with a proposal, which I just loved, and from that, with a few catch ups and venue visits, the theme of the wedding came together. I pretty much left it all in Chelsea’s hands and the outcome was better than I expected – she is one talented lady!”
“As Capriole isn’t a wedding venue, I was liaising with dozens of suppliers so I knew on the day I didn’t want the stress of having to worry about anything so I hired an “on the day Event Co-Coordinator”, Emily from Stella Weddings. Emily just went above and beyond of what I had expected her to do. I gave Emily a run sheet, we sat down together a week out from the wedding and ran through a few back up plans etc and then I left it all in her capable hands on the day so I didn’t have to worry about a thing – and I didn’t.”
“James and I love great food and wine so it was essential to have amazing caterers and a great supply of wine at the wedding. We had a few hours of canapés while we were off getting photos and then a 2 course sit down dinner for the reception. Something for Catering did all our food and they were phenomenal. They have the most amazing food van that they do all the food service out of. The food was sensational, the service of all their staff was impeccable and it looks unreal as well!”
Pearls of Wedding Wisdom from the Bride…
“I would recommend to anyone to try and find a venue that is set up to accommodate friends and family to stay, It meant the wedding wasn’t all over in one day. We had about another 50 people come back out to the property the day after to just hang around the pool and catch up as it’s incredibly hard to get around everyone the night of the wedding. And especially when you have lots of people travelling over for it, it means you get to spend more time with them. We also arranged for Something for catering to do all the salads for the lunch the next day and we just cooked up a BBQ – it was perfect.”
A huge congratulations to the newly weds Suzi & James! And a big thankyou to them and their photographer Chloe of White Images for letting me share their wedding with you.
