True Romance – A Fine Art Wedding Inspiration Shoot with Edwardian Elegance
Elegant vintage styling, fine art photography and an opulent colour palette of Marsala are all things guaranteed to give me butterflies, but when you combine these things into one inspiration shoot, well it becomes my idea of heaven! Today’s shoot from Verona Lain Photography harks back to a time when love blossomed under the watchful eye of a chaperone, and declarations were earnest and ardent made during snatched moments in the garden *swoon* I am so in love with the romance of it……
As well as utterly enchanting with its romance, today’s shoot couldn’t be more perfectly styled! Stunning floral arrangements of old English roses and country garden flowers have been created by Vanessa Birley Florals in rich shades of red that capture the passion of the bride & groom. The lovers are adorned in an exquisitely demure Edwardian wedding dress from Elizabeth Avey and the most dapper of suits from Tweed Addict, that conveys not only the luxury of fashion in the era, but also the rigidity and punctiliousness of courtship at the time. With a fresh fruit and flower topped naked velvet cake Crumbs Couture and an enticing table with rentals from Classic Crockery Event Hire it is sure to whisk you away to more chivalrous times.
Before we take a look at every charming detail, a few words from Verona Lain Photography about the inspiration behind their beautiful vision…”A strong feeling of passion was the main source of inspiration for this shoot. The idea was to create something sensual, colourful and vintage looking. We thought that marsala would be the best colour to represent true feelings, so we made this tone a main element in our palette. Silk ribbons, velvet cake, a vintage wedding dress and a tweed suit helped us to add an inimitable English style to the scene. A couple of words needs to be said about the location – Dulwich Picture Gallery garden. For the first time gallery opened its doors back in the early nineteenth century and until present day remains the oldest public art gallery in England.”
Seriously swoonworthy don’t you think? A big thankyou to the whole creative team below, and especially to Jana and Dmitry of Verona Lain Photography for styling and capturing everything so exquisitely, and for allowing me to share it with you.
