At the start of this year I rounded up some of the key trends for weddings in 2016, and ironically one of the biggest floral trends was the no flower trend – greenery! A modern take on the greenery (fern) obsession of the 1920s, it is great for creating a lush look without costing the earth; and is the perfect trend for the vintage, eco-conscious, boho or budget-limited brides. So, being loved by so many, it’s no surprise this trend is only expected to get bigger in 2017, especially after Pantone named ‘Greenery’ their color of the year! If you want to know how you might incorporate this trend into your celebration, here are 30 beautiful ideas…..

It is all about the organic, botanical style; creating an oasis whether indoors or out. And being both versatile and relatively inexpensive (compared to flowers) you can go a little crazy with it! Get imaginative and talk to your florist about bring your more grandiose ideas to life: think greenery garlands, table runners, floral walls and hanging installations.

Starting with the most obvious way, but also easily one of the most beautiful…and best! Especially for any bride who thought a cascading bouquet was out of her budget – trailing ivy or jasmine will giveyou the look, but at half of the cost of the floral alternative. It seems in 2017 wherever traditionally you think of flowers at a wedding, think greenery instead: the aisle, the reception tables, the bouquet and even the cake! And when it comes to this trend, more is more!, so when you think there’s enough, add a bit more!

I have been feeling quite sad of late at the thought of waving goodbye to 2016 and Rose Quartz, Serenity, and Victoriana; but now…. I am looking forward to seeing all that 2017 will bring 🙂
