21 Ideas for a Beautiful Aquamarine Wedding
I can’t quite believe it is time for the third post in our birthstone series already – where did February go?! I have so enjoyed these post so far, looking at all the ways you can infuse your big day with these gorgeous gems and hues. Starting with Garnet in January, and Amethyst last month, now it is the turn of March’s birthstone which is the beautiful Aquamarine – and it couldn’t be more perfect for Spring! A delicate and fresh stone, its colour is just the shade for a wedding at this time of year!
It has long been considered valuable, but Aquamarine’s most popular hues have changed over time; in the 19th century the most valued stones were green, today however we love stones to be a romantic sky blue.
And it’s not just its colour that makes it the ideal precious stone for weddings! The Romans believed it absorbed the atmosphere of young love: “When blessed and worn, it joins in love, and does great things.” And in medieval times it was thought to reawaken the love of married couples, also making it the perfect anniversary gift!
Of course you don’t have to use the gem alone to bring your Aquamarine wedding to life! Sprinkle the beautiful shades of blue they come in throughout your celebration to give a subtle reference to the sentiments and symbolism. Here’s some ideas to get you started…..

Isn’t it just gorgeous! Much as it may be perfect for a Spring wedding, it would look just as lush against a snowy Winter backdrop. And paired with a burnt orange or a pastel pink, it would look super pretty for Fall or Summer too. Pretty much just a perfect color whatever season you’re planning your wedding.
Well, after aquamarine I am counting down the days to next month, which is Diamonds! I’m thinking lots of crisp white details and understated elegance.
