The ‘Ophelia’ Temperley’s Tempting 2012 Collection

February 13, 2012

I am so excited about todays post I can hardly stop my fingers from trembling enough for me to type! Thanks to Helen Rodrigues, who is soon to be stocking the London based fashion house, Australian and New Zealand brides can join the long list of admirers of  Alice Temperley‘s delicate and feminine designs (a list of admirers that includes the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez and Princess Catherine) – and I can finally feature on CVB one of the most magnificent Bridal Collections of all time!

Temperley Ophelia Bridal Collection Kelly Dress & Coat

Temperley are renowned for their ethereal, bohemian style and their 2012 Collection ‘Ophelia ‘ does not disappoint, they have however added a number of other gorgeous silhouettes all in the the most sumptuous silk, satin, tulle and french lace.

The Grace, with its long lace sleeves, reminds me a little of the stunning dress worn by Lauren Bush last November…..

I adore the coats, jackets, shrugs and wraps in the Ophelia collection - although probably more suitable for the English weather, they are surely enough to make any bride consider a Winter wedding?!

The 2012 collection also includes, for the first time, a selection of exquisite and intricate accessories including jewelled belts, crystal headpieces and some of the most beautiful veils I have ever laid my eyes on – the sorts of veils that make me wish I had worn one….

The first bridal dresses were created following Alice’s own wedding to Lars Von Bennigsen, in 2002 when unable to find a designer offering the style of dress she wished for, she created her own. The launch of the ‘Ophelia’ collection, sees Temperley offering for the first time a selection of ready to wear dresses available outside of the London Temperley Bridal salons, as well as online at temperleylondon.com.

From the designer herself ‘I really enjoyed creating this collection; there is something for every Temperley woman – from the original bare footed Bohemian to our New York City Hall contemporary bride to our romantic full skirted princess and our Art Deco vintage nostalgic – Our brides always wear the dress rather than being worn by it, and they can dance all night, look beautiful and also feel themselves which is something that should never be forgotten on their wedding day. ’ Alice Temperley, MBE

In addition to the stunning workmanship and exquisite attention to detail is the ever-so-clever and special elements Alice has handpicked to be sewn into the seam, for the bride’s Something Old; a vintage 1920’s button, Something New; a sequin from the new collection Something Blue; a small piece of hand embroidery – little details make such a difference!

As if that isn’t enough gorgeousness for one year, excitingly there will be two Temperley Bridal collections this year – the next one launching with even more goddess inspiration.

I for one can not wait to see it and all the Australian and New Zealand brides in all their Temperley glory….. I am even a little (a lot) envious!

  3. First of all I would like to say awesome blog!
I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thank you!

I would love to hear from you! But please remember that the couples and professionals who share their weddings and work on Chic Vintage Brides are real(and lovely) people.
