Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons

Ah Friday, fabulous Friday, where have you been all week? I am so pleased to see you! All these early morning wake up calls of a puppy desperate for a play are beginning to take their toll! I am looking forward to a long lie in tomorrow (thanks to Mr E who will be on puppy-sitting duties) and a lazy weekend. I hope the week has been good to you ladies! Have you any exciting plans for your weekend? Of course there is no way more fitting to end the week and to welcome the long awaited weekend, than with my weekly roundup of the posts that caught my eye (in case, you were wondering, that was your cue to get yourself comfy because) here is this weeks Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons……

Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons

1. I love the hint of deco of this stunning engagement shoot, but Kate’s right, it is the contrast between the pale natural beauty of the scenery with the stark black attire that makes Amanda K Photography’s pictures all the more breathtaking…..

2. I knew I had to share this Exploration of Scent post after reading it on Love My Dress, because I know all to well the power of scent to recapture memories and revisit special moments in time. I chose freesias for our wedding, partly for their scent but primarily because they are my Mum’s favourite flower, I never realised at the time how important a choice it was. I feel so fortunate that each and every time I catch even a hint of the scent of a freesia I am whisked back to New Years Eve 2010……

……choose your flowers wisely ladies!

3. Did you know I so nearly eloped? I think there may have been a time when that would have been a cardinal sin for a wedding blogger to admit, however elopements today are often equally as beautiful as any big budget wedding! I love this funky retro elopement inspiration shoot  – it is brimming with ideas for weddings and elopements alike!

4. Of course now I would like to have another opportunity (or two) at celebrating mine and Mr E’s love, and if I ever get the chance one of those ways will be a woodland wedding, just like this NZ DIY wooded wonderland from A Couple of Night Owls…..how fab are these whimsical woodland creature masks?

5. Much of my day today was spent (other than chasing the dog around the garden) swooning over the latest from the Paris Couture runways for Spring 2014 on Vogue Paris. From the likes of Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Valentino and Giambattista Valli came some of the most magical, provocative and fantastic (in the true sense of the word) wedding dresses you will ever see!…….

Vogue(and I was super chuffed to see so many of the trends I picked for 2014 making appearances – pockets, floral, colour, short, capes and trousers!)

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

Amy
