Oh I have just the perfect post for you this Monday morning! It is absolutely guaranteed to start your week in the best possible way, because today’s intimate Autumn wedding is quite simply exquisite! Beautifully captured by Austin Gros, Adair & Kane’s elegant celebration in Nashville, really is gorgeous from start to finish……

So gorgeous in fact I hardly know where to start! From the fabulous and opulent floral designs (we’re talking aisle arches, flower crowns and chandaliers) in pretty pastels and rich Autumn shades, to the horse drawn carriage and DIY details, it is the epitome of timeless elegance. And it all started with finding the perfect venue for the intimate celebration they envisioned for their big day.

“Kane and I both felt very strongly about getting married in Nashville.  Kane also wanted to get married in the fall.  The native trees in Australia don’t turn and Tennessee has one of prettiest displays of fall foliage known to man.  He wanted his family and friends to experience that and I loved the idea of everyone coming to our town and getting to experience a little piece of our life. ” After discovering every suitable venue was booked solid for the next 2 years the couple started to despair, until Adair stumbled across a private paradise on a blog she was following!

“Kane and I went out to the property to have a look around and just fell in love. All was hidden from the road and as we entered the gates and drove about a quarter of a mile in, the view just opened up and it was stunning. The field at the top of the hill is the first thing you actually come to while driving in and it overlooks all of the hills and valleys. It took my breath away. Then we followed the gravel road down a bit, through a patch of cedar trees and came to a hidden, open air pavilion with a stone fireplace and vintage beams. We then followed the gravel road down further and came to the greenhouse and bottom of the property where they grow all of their produce. The greenhouse was in full swing and was loaded with trolleys carrying various micro greens. Even in it’s most utilitarian state, I knew what we had found. And I knew immediately how I wanted to use every space. We would get married in the field, then move to the pavilion for cocktail hour, in the greenhouse would be a seated dinner and we would have a tent nearby for the “after party”, cake and dancing. ” And with this vision and their venue booked they set about planning the perfect intimate Autumn wedding……

Isn’t it utterly swoonworthy? And how adorable is the flower girls outfit? Before I share more of the gorgeousness with you, here’s a little something from bride Adair about why they decided on an intimate affair for just 65 of their closest family and friends….. “It was really important to us that the day be about us officially starting our lives together. We didn’t want to invite anyone out of obligation. We also didn’t want to meet anyone for the first time on the most important day of our lives. We wanted to enjoy the day and actually get a chance to speak to everyone that we hold so dearly to us. It wasn’t just about us, it was about us sharing the moment with everyone that has supported us and helped us grow as individuals and as a couple.”

“We landed on the watercolor idea for our stationery because it incorporated the lighter and darker tones of the our colors naturally and organically.  Watercolor isn’t too rigid or specific which suited our day.  The inside envelope of our invitations had a custom watercolor detail of which we carried over into several other aspects of the day.  I hand marbleized each wax seal of the invitations for a watercolor effect.  I also painted the escort cards with watercolor.” Aren’t they just beautiful?

“My mother, sister-in-law and I took a trip to Chicago last February to kick off the search for the perfect dress. I had not looked in person yet for a dress and had no clue what I wanted. I honestly was not planning on purchasing a dress that weekend at all. I just wanted to have a special time with the two most important women in my life. We made appointments at several couture bridal boutiques and when we walked into the first appointment Anne Barge was having a trunk show. I tried on about 50 dresses that day, maybe more, all from various designers and all different styles. But the very first dress that I ever tried on was “the one”. I compared every other dress to it and I just knew. It was just my dress.”

Adair’s stunning engagement ring was something they worked on designing together.

I love their aiske arch! But if you thought the ceremony was heavenly, just wait until you see the reception areas…..

“We chose to have a square wedding cake with three layers.  The watercolor buttercream icing was beautiful and delicious.  It was simple and lovely.  The cake stand is a family heirloom from my mothers side.  The top tier was caramel, the middle was kalua cream and the bottom vanilla bean.” How scrumptious does that sound?? I would have wanted to try a slice of each!!

“It’s really hard to pick just one moment for a favorite. But the first moment we saw each other will always be what I think about. How his face lit up like a little kid excited to see Santa Claus. I had several people tell me after the ceremony that they had never seen a happier groom.
We also both loved the moment after we walked up the aisle as husband and wife. We finally got to see each other and catch up for the first time all day. We sat in the horse drawn carriage while our guests were taken to cocktail hour and talked about how we were so impressed that neither of us cried and how excited we were for the rest of the day. ”
