Romantic Italian Wedding Inspiration
I love Jane Austen, and I mean LOVE verging on obsession! I have read her complete works 10 times at least (re-reading it every year since I first discovered her); I own all of the adaptations, with the BBCs Pride & Prejudice being my favourite, of course! And when I lived in the UK I even used to visit her house. No really, I did! Her home in Chawton, Hampshire is now a Jane Austen museum and I dragged Mr E there once a year for the village fete (I think he is more than a little bit glad that we now live on the other side of the planet) So anyway, with this all consuming love of everything that is Austen, my heart nearly stopped when I received an email titled ‘Vintage Wedding Inspiration Shoot – Pride & Prejudice’ then when I saw the images within, well I was in heaven! For rather than a themed shoot complete with Mr Darcy in britches, a crazily talented team of Italian Wedding professionals instead collaborated on a truly inspiring shoot that captures the romance and beauty of the long lost era……
With its dreamy palette, delicate florals, gorgeous stationery and stunning vintage wedding dress (from a boutique, whose name is vaguely familiar) this inspiration shoot, captured in an incredible 300 year old building in in the beautiful Marche region of Italy and infused with Pride & Prejudice romance, is jaw-droppingly beautiful!
I am going to let the lovely Ara, the graphic designer in this dreamy collaboration talk you through its creation….. “We’d like to share with you this vintage wedding inspiration shoot based on Pride&Prejudice novel’s theme. We wanted to recreate the romantic but also fervent atmosphere of the novel, where female characters contend and proudly struggle with men’s love. The stationery is a mix of letter, postcards and old pictures on Amalfi paper, wrapped with silk ribbon. The dress is an american vintage design, over 60 years old. And the book we used is an English edition of the novel from 1950, with an original dedication from husband to wife for 10th anniversary! (we were so excited when we found it!)”
The bouquet is composed of buttercups, anemone, cool water roses and berries.
Oh, just so incredibly lovely…..it makes me want to read Pride & Prejudice all over again! And how gorgeous is the back of that frock?? Thank-you so much Ara, Cinzia and the whole creative team for dreaming up and bringing to life such a beautiful shoot; and for allowing me to share it on Chic Vintage Brides! Tonight I am sure to dream of Darcy 🙂
