Holly & Mistletoe – Christmas Wedding Inspiration in Rich Shades of Red, Gold & Green

Good morning lovelies and Merry Christmas Eve’s Eve. I don’t know about you, but I can definitely hear the sleigh bells ringing! Our presents are all wrapped and sitting under the tree, the sherry is open and I think it could be time for the customary annual viewing of Love Actually (its just not Christmas without it). Before that though, I am continuing this special week of seasonal posts today with a Christmas Wedding inspiration board that is guaranteed to walk you down holiday season memory lane, and evoke warm fuzzies, for nothing says Christmas quite like a palette of rich reds & greens inspired by Holly and Mistletoe…..

Add a hint of coal and a splash of gold and what could be prettier or more perfect for a timeless holiday season wedding? Especially against the backdrop of a blanket of snow! Whilst a mid-Winter wedding may mean moving inside, it doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of the season and all it brings. Think rustic but rich seasonal centrepieces and decor of fir, pine cones and berries, which will not only look lovely but infuse your venue with an unmistakably seasonal scent. Add some glamour and glitz to proceedings with gold finishing touches such as bells in the decor, gilded stemware, candlesticks or candelabras on the table. And don’t forget to layer textures to create a feeling of luxury and warmth – think gold embroidered table runners atop rustic wooden tables, red velvet ribbon tied around gold cutlery and cosy cable knit blankets tied to the back of reception chairs to keep your guests snug. Sweet cardis in a ruby red will make chic coverups for your bridesmaids or for you…..

The Wedding Dress

Add some retro-vintage charm to your seasonal look and celebrations with a tea length wedding dress. I love the neckline and beautiful lace sleeves of this romantic gown from Marchesa…..

Or chose a gown with some sparkle like this stunning Marchesa gown with its shimmering crystal and pearl neckline…..

Or for something a little more subtle, but no less beautiful, I love the silver embroidery on this design from Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2015 collection. With an illusion neckline and removable overskirt it must be even more breathtaking on than it looks in this image from the catwalk show…..

It’s All In The Details

A pomander bouquet is perfect if you’re looking to create sweet retro vibe. And what could make for a better choice, for the time of year, from which to make it than Mistletoe?

Pomander

Give your celebration a touch of glamour with gold stationery – I love the glitter lined envelope and how the dots on the invite looks a little like snow or stars…..

And the addition of gold accents will transform any table from rustic to fittingly elegant. Include some gold candelabras and line your tables (and aisle) with candles to create a light and an atmosphere full of romance and the promise of magic…..

So, what do you think? I absolutely love this colour palette! They’re traditional for a reason and nothing says Christmas quite like them. If bold and bright, or traditional, aren’t your thing though, take a peek at my last inspiration board, which was full of elegant neutrals. Or you can find more Christmas wedding inspiration boards here, here and here and LOTS more inspiration on Chic Vintage Brides Christmas Wedding Pinterest board.

Only two more sleeps until Christmas!
