Delightfully Vintage Stationery – ‘Dear Emma’
October 10, 2011
OK, so other than this, my blog Chic Vintage Brides, I have always been a little backward, or old-fashioned in staying in touch with my friends and family – I am not on Facebook (yet – oops, looks like that didn’t last long
), don’t use MMS and, now on the other side of the world to them, can rarely afford to phone or text. Instead I choose the more personal and fun format of letters, notes and greeting cards, so I am a little obsessed with all forms of stationery – just ask my poor, long-suffering husband, how long he loses me to stationery shops and departments! And I always have half an eye open for elegant vintage, retro and quirky wedding stationery.
I was overjoyed when I stumbled across the delightfully vintage Dear Emma Stationery shop on Etsy
The 1890 – Art Nouveau Wedding Invitation
Opulent Black & Gold Paisley Garden Design
Peacock Feather Invitation Design
The very Victorian Birds & Swirls Invitation
Having sold their range on Etsy for over 3 years, Dear Emma have recently been featured in American Bridal publication BRIDESmagazine and Australia’s SHOP TIL YOU DROP magazine.
They offer a fantastic custom service to make invites truly unique – with a wide range of colours and inspiringly vintage designs….. and most importantly international shipping!
Pink & Gold Vines Invitation
Queens Crowns Wedding Invitation - for the bride who wants to be princess for the day!
And with a choice of crowns, all incorporating perfect vintage feathers (my favourites are 3 and 4!)
The Victorian Paris Design - pictured here in a striking soft pink and black
The ranges include: save the dates, invitations, RSVPs, menus and programmes, table numbers, seating charts, notecards and thank-yous….basically anything you could possibly need or think of for a wedding!
Casablanca design – pictured in a rich purple
Art Nouveau Invitation - in chartreuse and grey, makes me think of Atonement
And even better, for those brides on a budget, they do an equally fabulous, and vintage, range of Print Your Own invitations on their sister Dear Emma DIY shop
Paris Chic - very Art Nouveau!
My Favourite, the art deco Peacock Garden design
The concept is simple but ingenious – you purchase the listing and send your wording, which Dear Emma then set in the design and send you the PDF to print! For those brides a tad bit crafty this is a perfect way to save a few pennies and include friends and family by involving them in the stationery production line.
Peacock Calligraphy Flourish
The gorgeous Calligraphy Bird in Tiffany Blue
Wedding Stationary really sets the scene for a wedding – the invitation is the important first, sneak peek guests get of the theme and plans for the big day, and I think no guest could be anything but excited to receive any one of the gorgeous vintage designs from Dear Emma Stationery! I am a big fan!
