Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons
Wow hasn’t the first week of November just gone in a flash?? This week I started, perhaps a little prematurely, my countdown to Christmas by opening a bottle of my favourite sherry (no, I am not a nanna, just born in the wrong era) And now I am wondering how long before I can put up my Christmas decorations and pull out my much loved copy of Love Actually (surely no Christmas countdown is complete without it?) I LOVE Christmas but what has me EVEN more excited this year is being in our own little love nest….and the hope that we might be hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet in time for Christmas – I am talking of the 4 legged kind.
Anyway, today being Friday it must be time for this week’s Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons and I think I may have raised the bar with my pick of truly inspirational wedding posts this week!
1. I so wish I was able to name, grow and arrange flowers like a professional! I mean have you ever seen anything as pretty as this soft peach bridal bouquet from 100 Layer Cake? The White O’Hara garden rose may be my new favourite – can’t you just imagine its scent? It (and my beautiful cottage garden) makes me wish I was more greenfingered!
(for literally bunches of bouquet inspiration check out CVB’s Chic Vintage Bouquets board on Pinterest – it has over 4 million followers!)
2. Of course I would also love to be Nigella in the kitchen, especially when I see cakes like this one created by Elysia Root Cakes for a Fall Woodland Wedding Inspiration shoot over on Green Wedding Shoes, just look at that gorgeous gold-woodgrain layer….talk about delicious!
3. I wonder if there is anything more romantic than a winter wedding? (of course I would say that, I was a NYE bride!) A key accessory for winter brides and bridemaids alike, is the all important cover up – be it a coat, cardi, shawl or stole the One Fab Day team had it covered in their post of 10 Winter Warmers…..
4. Now if anything is sure to make my knees weak it is a gorgeous bride glowing with happiness in her Jenny Packham dress (seeing a JP dress never fails to make me think of my ever-so perfect wedding) But add to this a groom embracing colour and a wedding full of fun captured by Emma Case and well, I am pretty much guaranteed to be floored – as I am sure will you be by this modern vintage wedding over on Love My Dress!…..
5. And what on earth could top a Jenny Packham bride? Why 2 Jenny Packham brides of course! And a must see glitzy, romantic farm wedding from Norway just filled with love!
Now go and let your hair down, it is the weekend, have a wonderful one!
