I am going to start this week’s Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons with an itsy confession, I am writing this on Thursday. You see, Mr E and I are off to our favourite little lakeside retreat in Taupo for a spot of r and r. Usually Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons makes up my Friday evening ritual, with a wine in hand I peruse the world wide wedding web for the posts that make me stop and read, scream with delight or swoon in awe, but this Friday I will be sat out by the lake, still with wine in hand, watching the setting sun….whatever we’re doing – wedding planning, wedding blogging, or  just wedding dreaming, it is important to take a moment away to marvel and enjoy life. I hope you forgive and understand my little cheat! Whilst written a little early, this week’s Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons is still full of five of the very best wedding inspiration posts to kick start your weekend……

1. Starting with this Luxury Vintage Travel Wedding Inspiration Board from Want That Wedding which swept me away to Egypt, the Nile and my favourite Poirot book! The palette of cranberry, cream and gold with hints of sage and apricot is delicious…..

2. Oh my gosh are the florals (by Oak & the Owl in LA) glorious in this Gatsby infused wedding inspiration shoot from Tonya Joy Photography! Garden roses, ranunculus, dahlias, blackberries, and hops in the most romantic palette of pinks!

3. If there is an aspect of the wedding bound to make all but the most extrovert groom (or bride come to that) squirm it is the photography. This post on the Art of Not Posing, with a few helpful hints on how to appear at your most dapper and smooth, is a must read for any camera shy groom…..

4. This intimate surprise elopement just couldn’t be any more stylish, or romantic. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Isle of Sky, it is the epitome of cool and just as beautiful as any extravagant wedding…..

5. And because I know us romantic ladies sometimes do peruse wedding blogs and magazines before we actually find a fiance, this snippet is for the not yet engaged lovers of vintage. Just take a peek at these beauties from Trumpet & Horn, including the stunning Pike Road with its incredible natural purple sapphire (I didn’t know sapphires came in purple?!) – they make me wish I could get engaged all over again! 🙂
