Last Sunday it was 5 years since Mr E and I had our first date…. it’s almost impossible to think of all that’s happened in those 5 years, it has been quite the whirlwind, but through all of it our relationship and love (though it’s a bit of a cliche, it’s true) has only grown in strength.

So as a celebration of 5 years together, I am looking back through this weeks Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons at the weddings that helped to inspire ours.

1. This Art Deco Divine wedding introduced me to wedding blogs, and in particular Love My Dress, Jenny Packham and made me realise our wedding didn’t have to look traditional to be spectacular! (it also taught me the importance of the venue in creating the look and feel of your wedding)

2. It was impossible not to be inspired by the endless stylishness of this Art Deco Florida Wedding on Ruffled…..

3. This glamorous Palm Springs wedding on Style Me Pretty made me realise to achieve the timeless elegance I wanted, a simple colour palette was key – and you can’t get more glam than Black, Gold and Ivory….

4. Oh and the swoonsome lighting and photography of this photo from an Australian wedding on Love My Dress, featuring a Johanna Johnson dress no less, made me want an evening wedding – I wanted romantic, softly lit, night-time photos, which of course lead to our Winter wedding, where we said our vows just as the sun was setting….

5. All of which lead to our wonderful wedding….

I can’t wait to see what the next 5 years brings and I am so thankful to have found such a wonderful man to share my life with.
