Siren Song – The 2015 Collection of Enchanting Bridal Gowns from Terry Fox
As someone who started blogging after getting married, as a way to sate my appetite for wedding dresses, without frightening my poor hubby; it is fair to say that there is little I love more than stumbling across a new bridal collection. Especially, when it is as spectacular and utterly breathtaking as Siren Song from Terry Fox is!…..
Whilst the name may be new to many of you (I only recently discovered her myself), Terry Fox is certainly no newbie to bridal fashion – she apprenticed with the Emmanuels (yes, those Emmanuels! who designed that dream dress for Princess Diana), has sold designs to Harrods and ran a sewing school at Liberty’s in London, where she taught the intricacies of corsetry. In fact Terry Fox could well be the wedding world’s best kept secret! Although she doesn’t (yet, at least!) receive the same exposure as the likes of Claire Pettibone and Jenny Packham, Terry’s designs are equally as unique and beautiful. And her stunning 2015 collection, inspired by folklore and fairy-tales couldn’t be any more perfect for brides looking for something elegant, with more than a nod to the romance of by-gone eras…..
“My latest collection is called ‘Siren Song’, and has been inspired by the Sirens of the sea. I love a good fairy tale and get very excited by the thought of creatures weaving their mystical magic – beautiful women (mermaids) calling men into the depths of the sea and keeping them for eternity. What better inspiration for a wedding dress?!”
I absolutely adore the beguiling femininity of the Siren Song collection and how Terry has managed to combine elaborate embellishment with simple elegance; and vintage elements with thoroughly on-trend design details. All Terry Fox designs are beautifully hand made using only the very finest silks, satins and lace; with every bead, sequin and flower lovingly put onto each gown individually in Terry’s magical showroom in Bury St Edmunds, England.
All of Terry’s gowns scream sophistication, glamour, drama and style. But what I particularly love is the attention to detail she has paid to the back of each design, ensuring as one of her brides you will look as breathtaking when stood at the alter as you do walking down the aisle…..
“I approach designing a dress as if I have an artist’s brush and a blank canvas in my hands; I need the picture to move and change as your eyes wander across the design, focusing on detailed embellishment along the way, and finding something new and even more intriguing on the way back.”
I adore the creative styling of this beautiful shoot almost as much as I love Terry‘s collection! Everything from the vintage backdrop to the opulent flowers and gorgeous accessories adds to the romance and magic of the designs. Captured by Carey Sheffield Photography, headpieces are by Donna Crain, Floral design is by luxury florist and event designer Paula Rooney, hair and make-up by Malin Coleman, shoes are from new designer Charlotte Mills and overall styling is courtesy of blogger extraordinaire Alexandra Merri of Bijou Bride – what a ridiculously talented team!
Aren’t these dresses exquisite? And they are just a select few! You can see more of the Siren Song collection over at Love My Dress – the lovely Annabel was lucky enough to get the exclusive first glimpse of the collection back in June.
The full collection will be arriving in boutiques shortly. Currently Terry Fox designs are only stocked in the UK (although I am sure this won’t be the case for much longer) – you can see where and find your nearest boutique here. You can also keep up with Terry’s latest news and collections on Facebook and Pinterest.
