Golden Plum – Rich & Romantic Winter Wedding Inspiration
Good morning! With the start of November already upon us (can you believe it? I don’t know where this year has gone – our little pickle turns 1 this week!) I thought it was time for a more wintery wedding inspiration board. There is one colour palette always perfect for any Winter (or Autumn) wedding and that is berries. For some rich and romantic wedding inspiration I chose plums and blackberries spun with gold…..

A late Autumn or early Winter wedding means moving inside, with candelbra laden mantel pieces over roaring fires. Choose a venue full of history and it will require little in the way of decor. Rich floral centrepieces in sumptuous shades of purple, flush with foliage and pops of white for contrast create a breathtaking table. Whilst a mix of patterned plates with plain and adding coloured stemware will ensure your place settings look suitably lavish. Using a mix of textures such as velvet ribbons, suede shoes and sparkly metallics will add even more richness to proceedings. Oh and berry hues are perfect for mismatching as well as super flattering, so your bridesmaids are sure to love this palette and their dresses as much as you do!

The Wedding Dress
The dress worn by the bride in the inspiration board is Jenny Packham‘s Dentelle from her Fall 2013 collection…..
Isn’t that back heavenly? However, if you want to re-create the look, the Louise wedding dress from Theia‘s Fall 2014 bridal collection has a similar silhouette with its cap sleeves and belted waist (and its available to buy online at Shopbop). Oh and the lace is simply stunning…..
Such a beautiful dress! But I think Winter is the perfect time to add a touch of sparkle to your look, don’t you? How about this wedding dress with its gorgeous plunging neckline from Marchesa…..
If you want something a little more seasonal, how about something with sleeves? I shared 5 of the most stunning long sleeved wedding dresses just perfect for an Autumn or Winter wedding a few weeks ago – you can take a peek here if you missed it.
It’s All In The Details
A cascading bouquet is oh so opulent and will instantly add a hint of vintage to your look, but they can be expensive. If you need to watch the pennies (or dollars and cents) use pretty snippets of ribbon trailing from the stem of your bouquet to create a similar effect at a fraction of the cost…..
Tying rich velvet (or metallic) ribbon around your wedding cake is also the perfect way to make a relatively simple cake look really pretty. Don’t you just love the gold floral icing detail on this beauty by Nelle Cakes?…..
Ahh, I absolutely adore this colour palette! How about you? If purple and plum isn’t for you, you will find more winter wedding inspiration boards here, here, here and here and LOTS more inspiration on Chic Vintage Brides Winter Wedding Pinterest board.
