Whimsical Blue Danube Inspired Wedding Editorial
Danielle Villemarette & Co.Today’s editorial is a bright and beautiful celebration of the warmer days to come. Perfect for Spring or Summer it features vibrant seasonal blooms that create a vivid and striking contrast with the powder blue of the bride’s skirt and the vintage blue china that inspired the shoot. All captured against the blank canvas of the fabulous Pistols and Pearls a Skyline Hideaway…..
“My design inspiration was the Blue Danube fine china plates that I would see when antique shopping. The blue and white are such refreshing colors to me, and I envisioned them pairing perfectly with an elegant, but slightly whimsical garden tables-cape.
We used blue delphenium, a variety of roses and spray roses, and antique caramel carnations. Whenever I think of whimsical gardens, lush greenery springs to mind, so we used some Italian Ruscus and Asparagus Virgatus Tree Fern, and finished the arrangements with curly willow branches.
The tablescape was designed to feel full, but inviting. I wanted it to have a very elegant, refined look, while still being attainable. Our plates were the statement pieces, being a variety of mismatched blue danube style china, with place cards hand calligraphed by Prim Paper Co.
The idea for the altar focal point to be a fireplace mantel was inspired by old historic homes that have been overtaken by nature. I wanted it to have something of an old-world-European feel.
The bride’s ring set were my grandmother’s rings. When deciding on a ring prop, I quickly thought of her rings, because they are very “old world” and elegant. She was a Danish woman that loved fine things (from Fine China to Italian Crystal).
We wanted our bride to be in something that played off of the blue danube, and opted for a dusty blue tulle skirt. The tulle lent to the whimsical feel of the shoot, while the dusty blue complemented the darker blue of our plates and matched the Delphenium (floral) well. For our groom, we wanted him in a traditional tux, keeping their attire very elegant.”
