Mid Century Mod Elopement Inspiration in Shades of Summer Sunshine
AMANDA DUMOUCHELLE PHOTOGRAPHYIn a summery colour palette of bold retro brights, today’s stylish Elopement inspiration shoot captured by the lovely Amanda Dumouchelle Photography, is full of mid-century dash and modern flair, and is the most perfect way to end the week! With a surprisingly pretty street setting, decor that manages to flawlessly mix modern with vintage and the most lush and summery florals, it evokes the 1960s whilst remaining distinctly contemporary…..
Let me introduce you to the lovely Justyna from Take A Seat Events who is here to talk us through all the inspiring details….“While styles and trends may come and go, there just seems to be something timeless about the mid-century era. Simple, vibrant colors, combined with chic modern edges and patterns are the main staples of this time period that also inspired the design for this Detroit Elopement shoot.
Our couple, Drew and Casey Marin, both grew up in Detroit but currently live in South Beach. They are drawn to the retro vibes and architecture of Miami, which is why they chose the colorful patterned graffiti, located in the Dequindre Cut, as the backdrop for their nuptials.
The story, design details and the essence of our retro bold couple were all captured perfectly by photographer Amanda Dumouchelle. Not only do her photos allow you to follow along the journey of Drew and Casey’s elopement through the pictures, but they also capture a sense of who they are and how their unique style represents them as a couple.
“The florals by Parsonage Events were kept true to the era and brought the entire design to life through the vibrant colors. Ferns were the foliage plant of the era and the reason we chose to line the aisle for the ceremony with this leafy plant, allowing the yellow billy balls in the bridesmaids bouquets to really pop.”
“The wedding dress (from The White Dress) showcases the vintage feel of the mid century era, while the bridesmaid dresses from Topshop contrast the look with a more retro mod perspective of the style. Beauty styling was by Drew’s very own sister Kyle Ann. “
“Even the pattern from the cake and cookies (by Love & Buttercream) was pulled into the envelope liner for a clean mod invitation suite designed by Paper & Honey!“
“The tablescape also featured colorful blooms that complimented the place setting’s. Mini succulents worked perfectly as placecard holders and the custom glassware tied all of the hues together.”
“We wouldn’t have been able to pull off the mid century look without the antique furniture and décor pieces from Modernly Events, who specializes in rental furniture from the era.”
Isn’t it fabulous? All those bright colours and summer florals just make me smile! A huge thank-you to Take A Seat Events and everyone involved in creating this Mid Century charmer, especially Amanda Dumouchelle Photography who, I am sure you will agree, captured it all perfectly.
