Jenny Packham’s Spring 2014 Collection and 25th Anniversary Show from NY Bridal Fashion Market
The unveiling of Jenny Packham collections are always special, the designer does deco like no other! She has a way of designing a dress that is unequivocally evocative of eras past and yet equally perfect for the modern bride. Each collection is met with eager anticipation – and speculation at which will be the next design to grace the red carpet on the Duchess of Cambridge! This year’s Bridal Fashion Market was however extra special, with the designer celebrating her 25th year and the show was something to behold……
The Knot’s editors wrote afterward, “I just cried at the Jenny Packham fashion show. This is one of the top 5 prettiest things I’ve ever seen in my life” and I can see why! Daisy Buchanan meets Titania from a Midsummer Night’s Dream, with the industrial New York venue being transformed into a tree lined boulevard at dusk, setting the scene for the designers seminal Spring 2014 collection, celebrating her 25th anniversary. Each design floated down the runway, silks and satins in fabulously fluid silhouettes gave an ethereal quality, shimmering with every step. Dreamy details like intricate, light beading and delicate embellishment paid homage to an Edwardian inspiration, whilst romantically voluminous ballerina skirts, graceful tulle sleeves and elegantly exposed backs brought to mind a very modern bride……..

I can definitely see the Duchess of Cambridge in that last design! And many a bride! My love affair with all things JP continue (I was a JP bride after all, what do you expect??) Amy x
