Theia’s Fall 2014 Infused with Gold Bridal Collection

I am more than a little embarrassed that this is the first year Theia is being featured on Chic Vintage Brides, indeed I am hanging my head in shame as I write this post. For those of you who haven’t heard of Theia, it is the label of Irish Designer Don O’Neill, who trained at Christian Lacroix (darling) and worked at such illustrious brands as  Badgley Mischka before launching his own label in 2009. The deity Theia who ruled during the Greek golden age inspires his collections which are designed to bring out a woman’s inner goddess. “Her incredible power was the gift of light; all that she gazed upon glittered, becoming luminous and radiant. She imbued gold and silver with their shine”……..

Theia White Fall 2014 Collection

For his fall 2014 Theia Bridal collection, Don O’Neill delivered clean silhouettes infused with a hint of gold or “the Midas touch,” as he put it – with varying degrees of gold from a bold brocade gown to a super romantic dress of filigree on French Chantilly lace. But for a change it wasn’t his dramatic use of colour that had me weak at the knees, but rather his striking hooded cloak (that so reminds me of the unforgettable Kim Bassinger’s femme fatale in LA Confidential)…..

There is a hint of every era in this collection – from the gold satin dress I could so easily see on Bette Davis to the Bianca Jagger-esque pants….speaking of which would you wear pants to your wedding? (I am talking to the brides reading this of course) I was tempted….but my best friend wouldn’t hear of it!
