Johanna Johnson’s Exquisite ‘Still Is The Night, Not So My Heart’ Bridal Collection
Oh where to even find the adjectives and superlatives to describe Johanna Johnson‘s latest collection?! So unforgettable was her last collection The Luxor that it hardly seems possible a year has passed since its launch. And if you thought, as I did then, that nothing could surpass it – just wait until you see ‘Still is the night, Not so my Heart’……
Inspired by the lavish costumes of the chorus girls from the Ziegfeld Follies of the 1920s, the collection for Spring 2013 is equally as luxurious as The Luxor, adorned with all the vintage details and Art Deco influences Johanna Johnson is known (and adored) for, but this season with a new softness to the silhouettes……
In ‘Still Is The Night, Not So My Heart’ JJ has with great effect, elevated some of the cleaner designs to a more detailed and striking level of luxury with elaborate accessories, in particular body adornments, like these draping Swarovski chains over the Vintage slip……
The embellished Muse all of a shimmer with its low cut back and mermaid silhouette is just fabulously seductive……
And Johanna’s exquisite bias cuts create the slinkiest of silhouettes in the most opulent swathes of silk, satin and lace.
This collection also caters for the bride lucky enough to be looking for not one but two dresses for her day. Johanna has cleverly incorporated tulle skirts and overlays into a number of the designs, creating a real versatility as well as two distinct looks all in one dress!
The title ‘Still is the Night, Not so my Heart’ it seems is due largely to Johanna’s nocturnal design tendencies of late. Keeping New York time has become a must (with further expansion on the cards) and Johanna can often be found sketching into the small hours, poring over the meticulous details of her collection.

‘Still Is The Night, Not So My Heart’ is available now and will sell until March 2013, but it has limited numbers so be quick if any have stolen your heart as they have mine! Which one has your heart racing? For me it would be Muse…. and Gilda….. and Bourdain….. and…… please don’t make me choose just one!
