As a designer I tried on during my search for the one, and would have worn (I fell hard for an elegant 1950s style number with pockets!) if only our venue’s aisle had been a little wider, I have long been a fan of Jesús Peiró and their elegant designs that shine with sophisticated simplicity. And whilst the occasional gown of theirs has appeared on these pages, I thought it was well past time I shared one of their stunning collections in its entirety…..

This Spanish design house has been creating bridal gowns since 1998 and their latest offering for 2016 is called ‘Nanda Devi’, after a beautiful mountain nestled between India and Nepal. Its name means “bliss-giving Goddess” and the collection most certainly has a snow dusted, ethereal elegance to it. Featuring gowns of iridescent fabric and lace, with sequins, crystal and metallic embroidery adding an understated splash of glitter, all working together to evoke “a Hindu princess walking barefoot on translucent snow.”

This collection is wonderfully romantic and feminine with delicate veiling of open backs, tinkling sleeves that drape the shoulders or float delicately down to the wrists and a beautiful array of necklines; silhouettes are unmistakably inspired by eras past (there is a distinctly mid century feel to many) whilst the design details and embellishments are most definitely modern; and each design is exquisitely tailored to maximise the sense of movement, to ensure you float elegantly down the aisle.

Forget wanting to be a Princess on your big day, these are for all of you Snow Queens out there…..
