Engagement Shoots
A Stylish Vintage Engagement Session With a Classic Cadillac From Dennis Roy Coronel Photography
Good morning! I have said it before (and am quite sure I will say it again!) that my only regret when Mr E & and I got engaged, was that we jumped head first into planning the wedding, never pausing for a moment to celebrate our engagement with a shoot. And well, when the polished and classy images of this vintage engagement shoot from Dennis Roy Coronel appeared in my inbox that regret was only amplified. You see Engagement sessions (you will find a pretty glamping inspired one here) are so much more than just a chance to practice your poses or get to know your photographer, they are an opportunity to have some fun and show your personalities, capture a shared love and create some cherished memories. Leann & Chris completely embraced their love of vintage for their super stylish engagement shoot! Dressed like a 1940s Bonnie & Clyde they took a drive in Chris’s classic Cadillac, with Dennis there to capture each beautiful moment…..
I am going to hand over to Dennis for the wheres and whys: “We took a drive out to a road in Orange County that Leann & Chris often frequent on Chris’ motorcycle. They had spotted this particular road before and once we arrived I was in love. It was a lonely road which gave plenty of shade from the trees above. Dressed to their nines, I made them pull over and we began shooting, making sure we incorporated Chris’s classic Cadillac. While I was photographing I was also capturing some footage for me to piece together later. When two people are this clearly madly in love with one another it makes my job that much easier, and a joy!” Oh his black and white portraits are absolutely going to take your breath away……
Aren’t they gorgeous? So intimate, stylish and dramatic, they would definitely be adorning my wall if I was Leann and Chris. Now for a little bit about their love story and proposal, over to Leanne “Chris and I grew up around each other and our parents were always trying to set us up. However, if you ask his dad, he’ll take all of the credit. After about nine years of wrong timing, the timing was finally right. We went out on a casual dinner and were pretty much inseparable for the next two years. However, this is not a fairy tale and it wasn’t the way it seemed to outsiders looking in. The timing wasn’t right again. Two more years passed and we both started new lives, but we never lost touch and never stopped loving each other. After two years, we decided to give it another chance because we couldn’t imagine our lives without each other. Two years later, on an ordinary Saturday filled with errands and a quick dinner… We were playing hangman. The puzzle said “Are you ready for the next chapter.” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.” I love their tale of fate and destiny – I am a firm believer of what is meant to be!
Oh and as if the photos aren’t gorgeous enough, Dennis also captured a video that is well worth a watch…..
A big thankyou to Dennis for sharing Leann & Chris’s stylish engagement shoot.
