A Dreamy Vintage Destination Wedding in The Hills of Tuscany
NADIA MELI PHOTOGRAPHYGood morning lovelies, oh do I have just the perfect post for you! It is absolutely guaranteed to brighten any Monday, however wet or miserable, because today’s vintage-inspired destination wedding is quite simply sublime! Beautifully captured by Nadia Meli, Manuela & Klaus’s charming celebration under the Tuscan sun, really is gorgeous. I mean, when the photographer says she wished it was her wedding, you just know you are in for something special…..
Inspired by their love of the simple things in life, like good food and great wine, Manuela and Klaus wanted a rustic Italian wedding infused with the colours and flavours of Tuscany. And when they visited Villa Cinciano with its stunning gardens, views over rolling hills, quaint courtyard and old farmhouse, they knew: this was it. From the elegant natural colour palette and the pretty fresh flowers (pale pink and blue hydrangeas, dahlias and roses) combined beautifully with aromatic Italian herbs to Manuela & Klaus’s chic style this wedding is Perfect (with a capital P)
Of course, such a beautiful day was only befitting the rather romantic start to their relationship“We met in a small bar in Zurich, Switzerland on November 1, 2011. I was out with a friend of mine and Klaus had a after work drink with a colleague. At first I just heard Klaus’ voice without seeing him and his voice just made me turn around. That is how our relationship began…” The couple dated for around a year before they got engaged, but according to Manuela, Klaus knew from the beginning that one day he would ask her to be his wife! (*swoon*)
Before we take a closer look a few words from Nadia, the lovely lady behind all of these gorgeous photos….. “There is really only one thing I have to say about this wedding: I wish it was mine. No really. This is my dream wedding. In the Tuscan sun, under a big tree, with beloved people and good Italian food. I mean!?
Being Manuela and Klaus’s wedding photographer was a dream. I had total freedom, they trusted us completely and put their faith in our hands. Feeling that kind of freedom and appreciation just brings out the best inside of you!
Everything about this wedding was inspiring. Just being in the italian countryside is enough to get your creativity going! When you add this lovely location and the wonderful people : it was nothing short of perfect. I am sounding like a broken record here. But I mean it. This intimate wedding was pure joy and a pleasure to photograph!”
So, sit back and enjoy every single dream worthy photo of this wedding, as we whisk you away to the Tuscan countryside..…
Manuela bought her dress in Switzerland “The designer’s name is Raimon Bundó, and the model Diana from the 2013 collection. It is a very romantic floor length, short sleeved A-line dress with a boat neckline and long train – and it fit my husband’s outfit perfectly.”
Doesn’t Klaus look dapper in his tweed vest and flat cap? His whole look has a very classic 1930s feel and I love that they dressed their gorgeous boy Bo to match!
Manuela & Klaus kept their wedding breakfast wonderfully relaxed with family style dining and simple decor. ‘On the tables were simple Jute runners, plaited brown table mats and simple plain white plates,’ explains Manuela.
The herbs on the tables made beautiful scent-filled centrepieces and added to the rustic feel of the reception.
Their ceremony was quite simply my idea of heaven! On a lush green lawn overlooking the rolling Tuscan hills it was everything Manuela & Klaus dreamed of “We had a dream of our wedding. Since I was a girl I always wanted to get married in the hills of Tuscany. My roots are there… Luckily Klaus shared this dream as he always wanted to get married under a big tree. With this location that our wedding planner suggested, we found the perfect place! It almost topped our dream….”
Oh, how stunning is that Tuscan backdrop to the couple’s celebrations???
Their wedding planner Helga Marks from Wedding Italy said of the day: “It was a September wedding with beautiful golden light. The elements for decoration were wooden cases, jute, straw, herbs, fresh seasonal flowers, olive branches, wild fennel. Very important for the rustic Tuscan countryside wedding was also the lighting: light chains in the big tree, lots of lanterns and candles on the table and in the entire garden area. The Tuscan inspired menu and the wine list were written with white ink on small blackboards”.
“The highlight of the day was the whole the day. It couldn’t have been more perfect…” says Manuela. “The weather, the location, the food, the friends, the family, and of course Nadia Meli, the world’s best photographer. It was just the most relaxed, easy-going best wedding party you could imagine.”
Manuela’s beautiful bouquet contained white dahlia, wild fennel, roses and pink grapes and blue hydrangea to tie it into the venue decor.
I just adore her ever so romantic bridal updo. The braids and fresh flowers give it such a modern yet utterly timeless feel.
Pearls of Wedding Wisdom….
“Always go by your heart and it you have a dream try to make it come true- and wait until you really find your soul mate no matter how long it takes. Then life is just a piece of cake and a lot of fun!”
See what I mean about Perfect – with a capital P? Doesn’t it just make you want to buy tickets for the next flight to Tuscany? If Italy hadn’t already topped my list of places I want to go, it most definitely would have after this glorious celebration.
Wishing the happy couple Manuela & Klaus, and their gorgeous son, a lifetime of happiness.
