A Beautiful Winter Beach Love Shoot
KIRILL BORDON PHOTOGRAPHY
No post could be more perfect to brighten a cold, wet and windy day like today, than this romantic Winter Love Shoot from Kirill Bordon. Snapped at a hidden beach in Vancouver, it is filled with gorgeous floral arrangements from Our little Flower Company in the prettiest Winter palette (including my favourite – a flower crown!) and graced with the most magical light. I swear it’s impossible not to be filled with a cosy warm feeling looking at these……
I love the mix of the cool blues and warm blushes in the floral arrangements, isn’t it just the perfect palette for a romantic winter wedding? Before diving into the pretty, here are a few words from the talented man behind the lens Kirill Bordon about the shoot and his lovely couple Nicole & Brendan who are getting married shortly….
“Nicole and Brendan are getting married this summer in Sajulita,Mexico and this was a pre-wedding styled photo shoot which we all enjoyed very much! They met on the film set of Varick Lane, a short horror movie where Brendan was the cinematographer, and Nicole was the Lead Actress : )
The first time I met Nicole and Brendan was when I was asked to photograph a jewellery collection for a local artist Urszulla Petrokowska from Zula Jewelery and Design, her pieces are simple and beautiful and I was thrilled to do it especially when I saw my models Nicole and Brendan (we used some pieces from Zula for this shoot as well) The location of the shoot was the same, although last time it was summer and everything was quite different : ) It was late November and it was getting cold, I was worried it might rain as it so often does here in Vancouver, but on the day of the shoot the weather was perfect! This session was shot on 100% film and I have used Contax 645 camera with a mix of Kodak Portra and Fuji film. The shoot took place at a hidden beach in West Vancouver with large west coast stones and forest surroundings. This is definitely one of my favourite locations, the light can be very magical here.”
Magical is definitely the word I would use to describe it! What do you think?….
Oooh it just makes me want to grab Mr E, a blanket and head to the nearest beach to watch the sunset…. and what a great idea a love shoot before the big day is! It’s the perfect opportunity to test hair & makeup ideas and of course perfect those poses.
