Fir Trees & Pine Cones – A Rustic Winter Woodland Wedding Inspiration Board
It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here! Last night Mr E and I decorated our tree and today I placed our first presents beneath its branches – only 9 more sleeps to go, and I can not wait. Less so for the presents, as for the quiet time with family, relaxing and recharging! I don’t know about you, but I am definitely feeling in need of it….and perhaps a few sherries 🙂 Anyway, today I have the perfect post to start our Christmas countdown! Some delightfully rustic inspiration for a Winter wedding in the woods……

We’re talking a cosy log cabin in the middle of nowhere, with log fires burning in every room and snow settling outside….. I can not think of anywhere more perfect for a rustic Winter wedding! Think seasonal decor, farmhouse style tables with wooden chargers and simple centrepieces of fir tree branches and pine cones that will fill the air with the most beautiful scent. Speaking of scent, how about some home-baked ginger bread snowflakes as favours for your guests? You will find a delicious sounding recipe here. But of course, for all its rustic charm, I couldn’t help adding a little glamour and sparkle with splashes of silver on the table and a beautifully embellished birdcage veil – the perfect partner to your fur (faux, of course!) shrug or cape.

And for the grooms? You could go a rustic brown 3 piece suit for a formal celebration, or for something a little more casual choose chinos, or cords, and smarten with a crisp white shirt, bow tie and brown blazer. Most importantly though, don’t forget a warm overcoat suitable for those all important portraits in the snow!!
