Titania – Temperley’s Timeless Spring 2014 Collection
I have talked before about my love of Alice Temperley‘s timeless, feminine designs; and last month the vintage, ethereal and bohemian London based design house showcased their latest beautiful collection…..
The Temperley Bridal Spring 2014 Titania Collection conveys an elegance and sophistication with a selection of exquisite silhouettes that celebrate the female form; combining meticulous detail and embellishments with an English eccentricity and personality drawing on everything British that is the Temperley Bridal handwriting. These gowns will look as breathtaking in a wedding album 100 years from now as they do today.
The Dorothy dress is a silk satin gown with lace and crystal appliqué – and its low draped back and flowing train makes me think of that unforgettable bridesmaids dress worn by Pippa Middleton…..
From Alice Temperley herself: ‘I love designing Bridal. Within the World of Temperley we create many beautiful gowns, but there is something magical about designing the dream dress for that very important day in a woman’s life – I am allowed to imagine the ultimate fantasy piece and am always so honoured when someone chooses to become a Temperley bride.
Each dress has to be the perfect blend of functionality and fantasy; a bride must never feel overwhelmed by her dress but allow them to be the ultimate version of themselves. All embroidery and fabric manipulation in my bridal collection are applied and crafted by hand and we only use the highest quality fabrics and French lace.’
The Peony Dress (above) comprises a fluid silk crepe de chine gown with fluted sleeve and draped back, with the loveliest fabric cut flowers and crystal embroidered empire waist – with the sleeves creating almost a cloak this dress is simply divine!
My favourite of the new collection is the charming ‘Heather Blouse and Petunia Skirt’ (above). I adore Temperley‘s modern interpretation of Victorian modesty – those long sleeves and high collar with that beautiful lace skirt is just so incredibly chic and elegant.
Orchid is tiers of chantilly lace, silk tulle and satin ribbon with wrap v-neckline and satin ribbon waistband…. it would be so perfect topped with a fresh flower crown.
The Fern dress is simplicity at its best. Draped satin with a hint of crystal embellishment on the straps and at the waist.
The Japonica Dress features a full skirted silk organza gown with an illusion neckline tulle bodice of delicate fabric cut flowers and Swarovski crystals…..
Crystal Mirage makes me think of Downton Abbey with its empire line and draped silk georgette. Its strapless bodice delicately embroidered and embellished though gives it a modern twist – and would be perfect for a beach bride!
Lavender is a full skirted structured silk dress with a train, pleated bust detail and crossed-over straps at the back.
Oooh Temperley you have done it again! Is anyone else in love??
