An Alluring Fall 2013 Bridal Collection from Monique Lhuillier
Today I have even more pretty from the recent New York Bridal Fashion Week! This time it comes from couture bridal designer and celebrity favorite Monique Lhuillier, who presented a stunning Fall 2013 collection…..
Monique Lhuillier is the designer of choice for the fashion forward bride who wants to look elegant, but with an edge. Monique’s designs have always captured the essence of sophisticated luxury, her collections always burst with femininity and allure. And with this collection of form-accentuating gowns, creating a sheer volume with lace and tulle, the designer has achieved her ambition of crafting a “dream-like” collection.
“I wanted this year’s collection to feel very dreamlike, fantasy-like — like the dresses were fairies floating in the room. I stripped a lot of layers out. These gowns have a lot of intricate detail, whether it’s the draping or the use of lace or the overlays.”
With contemporary illusion necklines as well as the more traditional strapless, ballgown and column silhouettes, floor length and asymmetrical hemlines; every design offers something new and enthralling. All finished with a flourish and a sprinkling of the details synonymous with Monique Lhuillier – romantic floral appliques, intricate embroidery and delicate lace….
Monique also kept a close eye on the key trends for Fall 2013, ensuring her latest collection maintains her fashion forward signature…..
“Sleeves are very strong in my eyes, long sleeves with a column silhouette. I also think dresses with a lot of draping in lace are another strong silhouette. And I think the over-skirt is going to be a very popular accessory. Girls love to transform their gowns, so this is just having two looks in one night. All of the over-skirts [on my dresses] come off, so you can have two looks.”
There was also a hint of colour with a muted golden blush that would look super pretty for a Spring wedding!
(definitely my favourite design of the whole collection!)

I have more from this year’s New York Bridal Fashion Week for you next week, but tomorrow I have a Downton Abbey special – series 3 starts tonight over here, and I simply can not wait!!!
Which of this weeks three collections is your favourite? Vera Wang’s Classic Ivory, Claire Pettibone’s Romantic Contribution or today’s form accentuating offering from Monique Lhuillier?
