The Unbelievably Beautiful ‘I Wish I May’ Collection from Erica Elizabeth Designs
Morning lovelies! I have awoken to a somewhat grey and wet Monday, but today’s post is guaranteed to brighten even the most miserable of days. I am beyond excited to be introducing ‘I Wish I May’, a stunning collection of beautifully romantic bridal accessories and adornments from the incredibly talented (and lovely) Erica Elizabeth Designs. She long ago captured my heart (you can see her Fall 2013 collection here) with her ability to marry details of bygone eras in her modern day designs, and with this her latest offering I do believe she has achieved perfection…..
Erica Elizabeth Designs crafts heavenly bridal accessories with exceptional materials, creating pieces that are more than just perfect for your wedding day, but that can endure and be treasured as family heirlooms. ‘I Wish I May’ features crowns, tiaras, bridal hats and flower halos; as well as the more traditional veils and headpieces, something for every bride whatever her personal style.
Erica shares the inspiration behind the collection “Memories of generations past form the running thread that weaves through the fabric of our lives, stitching a rich tapestry of love, marriage and family. In my family, my dear father’s passing was followed by the birth of my niece’s first child. This precious cycle, a journey of loss and renewal, led me to reflect on the many brides who have worn my designs, wondering where in life their journeys now find them. Marriage is a new beginning, a ‘Before’ and ‘After’ milestone on life’s journey. Today’s bride embraces the treasures of generations past while building new memories as her marriage begins. This journey of love, marriage and family inspired my 2014 Collection.”
Now, this may be a long one ladies, as there are just too many pretty pieces for me to leave any out. So grab a pew, get comfortable and don’t start scrolling until that pinning finger is ready!…..
Isn’t each and every design just utterly swoon-worthy? A woman after my own heart, Erica has included some fabulous crowns in this collection (so the revival starts here ladies!) “Drawing from the past, I was pulled toward the youthful crown and tiara fashions, worn for centuries as a sign of nobility and aristocratic grace. These special designs, marked by exquisite materials and unique textures, are crafted with my signature care to make each piece a lasting treasure…..”
Erica also understands though that for some brides the eptiome of elegance lies in simplicity “Because of my background in jewelry design, one of my favorite styles to create is smaller jeweled hair embellishments – I am a firm believer that sometimes when it comes to wedding accessories, less is more. Pieces adorned with plump lustrous freshwater pearls & sparkling crystals can be moved freely though out feminine hair rolls & braids to brighten up the brides face without taking away from her gown…..”
Erica has such an eye for detail that along with her rich use of texture creates a diverse collection of truly unique pieces. Each with an element of lost romance from eras past, you can spot influences of Victorian, Edwardian, Deco and pre-war fashion; yet all are essentially timeless and completely befitting a modern bride.
That stunning silk Georgian reproduction bridal gown was handmade by Erica Elizabeth herself and features flowing ribbons, hand pressed silk flowers and English laces, don’t you just love it?
Erica, it is always such an honour to be able to share your work, thank you so much! You can see the full I Wish I May collection on her site. The collection was partnered perfectly with an equally breathtaking gown from Claire Pettibone and was brought to life by the beautiful photography of Caroline Tran; such a heavenly combination!
Do you have a favourite piece? The bridal hat is fab-u-lous and I can’t wait to see a bride wearing it, but my favourite would have to be the first crown.
