Decoupage Claire Pettibone’s Sublime Spring 2014 Collection
Nobody does vintage inspired, ethereal and beautiful wedding dresses quite like designer Claire Pettibone (you can see some of her previous creations here on Chic Vintage Brides) I eagerly anticipate each and every one of her collections, and so couldn’t be more thrilled to be sharing her latest (and greatest?) offering for Spring 2014 ‘Decoupage’…..
Decoupage, inspired by the art of decorating with cut-outs of paper or fabric, is a collection full of the dreamy silhouettes and intricate details we have come to expect from the queen of the delectable (and on trend) dramatic backs. Layers of chantilly and guipure lace cascading over sumptuous silk, with ornate beading and floral details creating luxuriously rich textures and old world romance…..
And the collection again showcases her signature mix of heavenly necklines and graceful trains – from Edwardian inspired high collars and long sleeves to illusion necklines and delicate cap sleeves; all are delightfully demure and super pretty…..
Claire describes Decoupage as ‘an heirloom collection of wedding gowns’ and I couldn’t agree more, they are the epitome of heirloom and will look as beautiful in 100 years as they do today! I, once again, am completely smitten…. Claire Pettibone never fails to make me wish I could get married every day! At least one of those designs is sure to have made your heart beat a little faster, which one would be your choice? What detail do you love most? mine has to be the Charlotte with those sweet little blue flower buttons trailing down the back.
