Britten Weddings Art Deco Inspired 2013 Collection ‘Circa’
I have such a treat for Art Deco fans today!! A collection full of fabulous feather fans, flapper inspired headdresses, intricate jewellery and embellished handbags……
These gorgeous pieces are from the new ‘Circa’ collection from the British Britten Weddings. The incredibly talented lady behind Britten and ‘Cira’ is Sarah who describes the collection as “the product of hundreds of hours of development. I’ve driven everyone around me mad with my constant changes and refinements but I’m very proud of the end result.” – and so she should be!
The clean lines and shapes of the designs give a very modern and glamorous feeling to the collection whilst the 1930’s art-deco inspiration whispers in the background. Sarah says “There was a sense of great optimism about the art-deco era and design that I wanted to rework for the 2010s – what better time to look forward and upward optimistically than your wedding day?!”
My favourite piece is Jessie, those opulent ostrich feathers are just so Ziegfeld Follies! And I adore her gorgeous trio of chic (and understandably proving popular) garters……
I love that each and every pieces is handmade by Sarah the designer, in a 300 year old workshop in the heart of England. The material is selected, patterned and cut by Sarah to the exact size for each customer – no two pieces are identical and every one fits perfectly. All embellishments are placed and stitched into place…… I can only imagine the labour of love that some of the bigger statement pieces become!
