The New Bridal Capsule Collection for 2014 from Belle & Bunty
Who could forget Belle & Bunty‘s 2013 collection, with its feminine, flirty and flattering designs of sumptuous silk and satin (so reminiscent of that Atonement dress) Well, as jaw-droppingly gorgeous as it was, I do believe it has nothing on their 2014 bridal capsule collection!
The Belle & Bunty brand has long been synonymous with understated elegance, and in 2010 they brought this aesthetic into the bridal world, combining: glamour, modernity and romance for brides that want a unique, luxurious wedding dress with a vintage inspired feel. Belle & Bunty bridal collections are always infused with pure glamour, inspired by the best of bygone eras, such as the 1930s and 1940s, whilst continuing the brands modern and unique take on ‘vintage’.
This their latest collection is a little more exotic, alluring and sensual; inspired by the early 1900′s and the exotic Dutch dancer, turned spy, Mata Hari, with her carefree, dark provocative style. Mata Hari was a free-spirited bohemian seductress, who was the first woman in the 20th century to achieve “celebrity” status. Known for her love of jewels, ornamental armwear and headpieces, her style exuded opulence and luxury; and subtle elements of this have been woven into the new collection in true Belle & Bunty style, with jewels and textures of delicate laces layered on top of delicious fluid silk satins, chiffons and morocains.
As well as best sellers such as Petal, Pearly and Darcey, as well as of course ‘Belle’ and ‘Bunty’ (the original designs that launched the bridal brand) new styles include The Aster, a full sleeve frothy style combining a delicate dotty tulle & beautiful lace.
The flattering Blossom dress has hints of texture with its tiny lace capped sleeves and lace peplum, while The Valentina’s flare satin skirt and lace hanging bodice creates a beautiful silhouette, really enhancing the wearers waist.
The more structured Maple, which I can so imagine Joan Crawford wearing, has strong clean lines with a plunging V back, offset with a dark antique crystal belt for a true mix of modern and vintage.
The blush silk satin underskirt of The Ophelia allows the beautiful ivory lace to do the talking in this dropped waist style with godet inserts, key to the Belle & Bunty collections.
Scallop lace trim and dotty tulle is used to perfection with the introduction of the strapless Tulip Dress, styled with wide silk satin sash.
Oh what I would give to have The Maple or The Blossom hanging in my wardrobe! Now who would like to be a Belle & Bunty bride? (I would!) If you’re eager to try on one (or many) of these gorgeous gowns, then Belle & Bunty is stocked in select boutiques in the UK and around the world.
