20 Elegant Art Deco Bridal Hair & Makeup Ideas
I might have mentioned it before (once or twice) that, when it comes to fashion, the Art Deco era is one of my absolute favourites, and it’s the hairstyles in particular that always get me swooning! Being both sexy and chic, glamorous and sleek, it is no wonder that almost 100 years later these looks are still so en vogue…..
A time of prosperity and opulence, the Art Deco era was full of elegance, glamour and great change – especially in fashion. During the 192os both hair length and hemlines got shorter, thanks to Monsieur Marcel and his revolutionary curling irons, fashionable hair styles became achievable for every woman, not just the rich and famous; and makeup became commonly used.
So what makes the perfect look for an Art Deco loving bride? Well, you could go roaring 20s glitz and Gatsby glamour with dark doe eyes, marcel waved hair and cupid bow lips; or channel your inner Lady Mary with a look that is a little more subtle and elegant by keeping makeup natural and opting for a chic updo with a splash of red on the lips. Whatever your style, if you love Art Deco, you are sure to find something you love amongst these 20 beauties…..
