A Hand-Tied Bridal Bouquet of Spring Purples

Good morning lovelies! The super-talented, and utterly fabulous, goddess of all things floral, Toni from Magdalen Hill is back today with her 8th bouquet recipe – oh and if you missed the others then do take a peek here, they really are a MUST see! Today’s hand-tied, spring bouquet, created for one of Toni’s brides, has been captured so perfectly by Natalie McNally, and features such pretty purple hues that I just know you’re going to love it as much as I do! So, have your pen, paper and pinning finger at the ready before scrolling any further…..

Before we go any further, a little something from Toni about the bouquet “Picking up on the different shades of purple worn by her five bridesmaids, all who held simple posies in white, my bride opted to make a bold statement with this full lush hand tied bouquet in amethyst, violet, lavender and plum, a combination that provided an abundant richness in stunning jewel tones. Being a spring wedding, a wealth of purple blooms were available to choose from. An emphasis on texture added an old world charm when combined with vintage style Dolcetto roses.  Anemones and tulips, chosen for their depth, enhance the sense of whimsy provided by viburnum berries and caspia. But most enchanting was the scent!  The medley of lilac, lavender and geranium was heavenly.” Doesn’t it sound divine? Now to see her weave her magic once again…..

Bridal Bouquet Price: $$$$ = Plush (Budget Key $ = Thrifty – $$$$$ = Lavish)

A Bouquet for the Bride who: has many shades of one colour used throughout her wedding. A bouquet like this, with a mixture of flowers in shades and hues of one colour, will provide continuity to the overall visual design of the wedding, meaning you won’t have to worry if the bow ties for the groom & groomsmen perfectly match the stationery or your bridesmaids shoes.

Ask your florist for: an all-round hand tied bouquet in a range of tones, shades and textures in your chosen colour. An all-round bouquet is a great fuss free option, because as the name might suggest, when being held the flowers look fabulous from all angles.

Season Available: The combination of blooms in this bouquet is available in Spring, although some do have a longer season. If there are any not available when and where you’re getting married, just ask your florist for their recommendation, as they will be able to suggest alternatives that best suit your wedding date, style and budget to achieve a similar result.

So, Dolcetto roses are are one to remember! They have such a beautiful aged look that makes them just perfect for vintage bridal bouquets. I love this purple posy, and I think it would look rather lovely with my lavender & lilac inspiration board from last month!

A big thank-you to Toni and Natalie for allowing me to share more of their beautiful work. If, like me, you can’t wait for the next Bouquet Recipe, you can catch up with their past ones here for a country garden inspired bouquet and here for a pretty posy in pink and here for a scentful white bouquet!
