Top Ten Wedding Dress Trends for 2014 – Part II

Morning lovelies! I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday’s post (it was Part I of today’s so it is here if you missed it) I certainly loved pulling it together – perusing the 2014 catwalks and collections of the very top wedding dress designers from around the world and choosing the top 10 wedding dress trends for this coming year. I think I may have rather sneakily (and quite inadvertently) saved the best for last! So without further ado, here are the remainder of the top ten wedding dress trends for 2014…….

Top Ten Wedding Dress Trends for 2014 Part II

Elegantly Long Sleeves

Part I included the new on-trend look for Autumn and Winter brides – the cape, but it seems however you do it, covering up is key for 2014 brides. Demure and exuding a stylish elegance long sleeves are going nowhere (yay, I say! as well as a little thankyou to the lady who revived the trend, the ever graceful Duchess of Cambridge) Still a favourite of designers, as well as brides (and bloggers) and it is little wonder when they create such sublime silhouettes and look as pretty as these……

In fact long sleeves were everywhere on the 2014 runways! And adoring them as I do, I couldn’t possibly keep my selection down to just 5, so here are a few more……

Fit & Flare Silhouettes

I am loving the fresh look of the fit & flare silhouette (otherwise called the Mermaid or Trumpet silhouette) Form fitting and figure accentuating, fit and flare gowns hug every curve, creating a look that is just the right side of sexy for a wedding day. Whether smooth satin, delicate lace or tulle, this silhouette is the perfect mix of sheath and ballgown, and its strikes just the right balance of vintage and modern……

Exquisite Embellishment

If you can’t wear a bit of sparkle on your wedding day when can you? This trend is a stunner and perfect for brides looking to make a statement but shy of colour or unconventional length. Instead glimmer as you glide down the aisle and dazzle your groom and guests alike in an elaborately embellished dress……

Pockets

I have to admit, whilst my Mum will hate this trend, I adore it! There is something so casually chic and a little bit 1950s about a wedding dress with pockets – not to mention frankly cool about a bride with her hands in them! (nothing says nonchalance quite like it) Oh and talk about practical – pockets are the perfect hidey hole place for every brides wedding day must haves – lipstick and blotting tissues for those pre-portrait make-up touch-ups!

Beautiful Backs

I think this is less of a trend and more of a must for the modern bride! Don’t forget for much of your big day your guests will only be seeing your back, so cause a little gasp as you walk down the aisle and create some drama with a dress whose back is as breathtaking as the front (or more so!) Low, cut out, cowl, illusion, portrait, bejewelled, bold or bewitching, give them something beautiful to gaze upon!……

So, that’s it, the top 10 wedding dress trends for 2014…..what do you think? Have any captured your heart or imagination? I for one can not wait to start seeing brides wearing each and every one….. I love them all!
