Top 10 Wedding Colours for Spring 2015 from Pantone
Good morning! A couple of weeks ago Pantone released their colour picks for Spring 2015 and it has me, and indeed the whole wedding world, rather excited. Now you may be wondering who the heck is Pantone? And, why on earth should you care what colours they pick for next Spring? Well, remember last year how Emerald was everywhere? And this year Radiant Orchid has been popping up all over Pinterest? Well, that’s because Pantone chose them as their ‘Colour of the Year’. You see, Pantone is the world authority on colour. Their colour cards and codes are referenced and used by industries, including the fashion and wedding industries, around the world. And when they say a colour is fabulous and going to be big next year, they’re usually right – because what Pantone says, the fashion world does. So you see, if you’re planning a Spring 2015 wedding, you will want to know what colours Pantone has chosen, because these are the hues and shades that are likely to fill the shops….. oh and if that’s not a good enough reason for you to take a peek, they are also super pretty!
Here’s how Pantone themselves described the palette for Spring 2015 “This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head into warmer months.” I would have to agree and say their choice of colours have never been so perfect for a wedding with a dash of vintage romance, be it nouveau, deco, retro, or just plain old-world elegant!
Pantone have chosen beautiful Aquamarine 14-4313 (that’s their geeky numerical code for it) as their lead colour for Spring 2015. An airy blue with a dreamy feel it is ethereal with a distinctly vintage feel…..
