A 1920s Inspired Cabaret Club Wedding from Grace Photography
Chic Vintage Brides is going global today with a 1920s wedding at the most fabulous cabaret club in Ireland, submitted by the beautiful bride herself – it is always such a compliment to receive a submission from a bride!
As a Jenny Packham bride myself I confess to feeling something of an affinity to all fellow lovers and wearers of JP; and it was Maura’s divine gown that first caught my attention, but the look and feel of the whole 1920s inspired, elegant affair is my idea of modern vintage perfection! A day filled with family traditions and a venue that truly takes you back in time, plus some of the most stylish couples portraits I’ve seen (Grace Photography was the perfect choice to capture this wedding) make it truly unforgettable! Take a look and I have no doubt you will see what I mean…..
From Maura the bride ”We really wanted the occasion to tell a story about us a couple and to reflect that in even the smallest detail. Part of that story is the respect we have for our families, so we wanted it to be a celebration of family and friends and what we hoped is that they would feel it was their day too.”
I love Maura’s bouquet of dried lavender and sweet annie, even more so because it was a tribute to her much-loved grandmother Annie, who used to grow lavender and dry it to make pillows for her as a child.
After the ceremony Grace from Grace Photography and the newlywed’s took a stroll down the gorgeous streets of Belfast, creating these stunning portraits…..
(I just love the lights twinkling in the background of this one)
Now if the ceremony was timelessly elegant and understated, the reception was just outrageiously glamorous! Set in the art-deco inspired Cabaret Club with a jazz band and Charleston dance group entertaining it has a real speakeasy vibe (ooh it is so Boardwalk Empire!)
Maura explains “We had looked at quite a few unusual venues, from museums to art galleries, but the styling at the Cabaret Club was perfect! It was a case of probably not knowing what we were looking for until we found it. When we first walked in, it was like stepping back in time. For a moment we were completely captured by the sentimentality of it and we hoped our guests would feel the same way. “
A huge thankyou to Maura – it was such an honour sharing your gorgeous wedding on Chic Vintage Brides, thankyou for haring your day with me. And to Grace at Grace Photography for your exquisite photos!
Don’t you just love the cabaret club reception? It fits so perfectly with Maura’s Jenny Packham art deco wedding dress! Are there any other Jenny Packham brides or brides-to-be? Are you planning a flapper inspired or elegant Downton Abbey inspired wedding?
Wishing Maura and Conor every happiness!
