Wedding Bouquet Recipe

A ‘Just-Picked’ Posy of Pinks

Good morning lovelies! The super-talented, and very lovely, florist extraordinaire Toni from Magdalen Hill is back today with her fourth bouquet recipe – oh and if you missed the other three do take a peek here, the first one, a hand tied Autumn bridal bouquet, especially was a MUST see – it had a matching flower necklace!. For those of you who are new to Chic Vintage Brides, for whom this may be your first glimpse of Toni’s work (I know there are a lot of you – welcome!), you are in for quite the treat! As well as inspiring and delighting you, the aim of these posts, where we break down some favourite bouquets (yours and ours) into blooms, bunches and stems, is to help shed a little light on all things floral. With the flair, talents and insights of Toni, we hope to ensure that, when you go to meet your florist for the first time, you know exactly what you love, what might be in season when you’re getting married, what you can afford and what to ask for. Today’s ‘just-picked’ posy, a bouquet for one of Toni’s brides, was created in such a pretty palette of pinks and captured so perfectly by Natalie McNally, so have your pen, paper and pinning finger at the ready before scrolling any further!

Before we take a look of every gorgeous detail, a little something from Toni about the bouquet and its lucky bride “A collection of pinks and whites was the perfect combination for this bride, who, breaking away from convention, wore soft blush pink to create a relaxed, elegant vibe for her special day.  Created to give a sense these blooms were ‘just picked’, this bouquet has been designed with a definite front and back.  Each bloom is given its own space to shine, which is important in a lower cost arrangement.  The overall design allowed for the bride to carry it in the traditional pose in front of her, as well as being able to drop her arm for a more casual effect.  Because I like to invoke as many senses as I can in a bridal bouquet, I included scented treasures such as Freesias, as well as Roses and Ranunculus.  The most beautiful sentiment though is that this bouquet was a gift to the bride from her Matron of Honour, a gesture I’m sure will always be treasured.”

Aaah Toni makes it look so easy! Want to know the recipe for this particularly pretty bouquet? Me too!!

Season Available:  The flowers featured in this bouquet are generally available in late Winter to Spring – although this will vary depending on your location.  Talk to your florist, as some blooms have a definite season, whereas others are available year round, and they should be able to suggest in-season alternatives that will have a similar effect.

Budget Key: $$   ($ – Thrifty – $$$$$ Lavish)

A bouquet for the bride who:  has a smaller budget but doesn’t want to compromise on style, whether casual or formal.  This bouquet would enhance a church ceremony just as beautifully as a ceremony in a garden setting.

Ask your florist for:  a faced, hand-tied bouquet, with a ‘just-picked’ feel to it.

Such a pretty bouquet and pink, with all its shades and hues, is such a great choice for a vintage wedding!
