A Sweet Summer Apple Orchard Engagement Session
It’s impossible not to fall head over heels in love with today’s super sweet engagement shoot! With its vintage styling, the meaningful location and adorable couple Kristine & Ryan – whose beaming smiles couldn’t be more contagious, all captured so beautifully by Tyler Boye from Tyler Boye Photography; it is quite simply the perfect way to start the week!
From Kristine, the happy lady with the new sparkler “We went to Solebury Apple Orchard in New Hope, Pennsylvania for our engagement shoot. We both grew up in Doylestown, Pennsylvania which is only about 20 minutes away from the orchard. On October 26, 2013 (my birthday) we went to Solebury Apple Orchard, like we had always done for the last 3 years, as part of my birthday celebration, but this was an extra special birthday because on this trip to the apple orchard Ryan proposed 🙂
I’m embarrassed it actually took us almost 7 months to realize that the same apple orchard that Ryan proposed to me at would be the perfect setting for our engagement shoot. We knew we wanted our engagement shoot to take place outside. But most apple orchards in the Philadelphia area charge a pretty steep fee for engagement shoots. When I approached Freya, the manager at Solebury Apple Orchard, about having our engagement shoot there, she suggested I write a check for $25 as a donation to the orchard. On the day of our e-shoot the orchard was actually closed to the public and we had the entire place to ourselves except for some of the workers who were tending to the apples and other crops. Towards the end of the shoot there are some photos of Ryan and I on the back of a pick up truck, which wasn’t planned but worked out well as the orchard employee drove by us as we were taking photos and we asked if we could take a photo on the back of the truck 🙂
We both love Mad Men and wanted to have some vintage elements in our photos. Our photographer Tyler Boye from Tyler Boye Photography works with a stylist named Jessica who was the absolute greatest! Jessica brought a lot of the vintage props with her that she had from her own personal collection. I bought all of our clothes for the engagement shoot at Nordstrom.”
Wow, isn’t it lovely?? It is still my biggest wedding-planning regret, that Mr E and I never took the time to have an engagement session – something I regret all the more every time I see stylish e-sessions such as this one! A big thankyou to the happy couple Kristine & Ryan and to Tyler of Tyler Boye Photography for allowing me to share their sweet engagement shoot.
