A Miss Fisher Inspired Art Deco Wedding Shoot

BOB RIDER PHOTOGRAPHY

Anyone a Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries fan?? If so, you are just going to go giddy over today’s styled wedding shoot from Calistoga in Bloom and Bob Rider Photography! Inspired by the art deco style and sassy attitude of the fabulous Miss Phryne Fisher, it is a vision of 1920s loveliness…..

Miss Fisher Inspired Art Deco Wedding Shoot

I will let Tenae of Calistoga in Bloom tell you all about it…..“Opting for a romantic pink, green and silver color palette, we set our glitzy and glamorous bride against a backdrop of Australian native flowers in the historic setting of Brannan Cottage Inn in Calistoga, CA.

We combined bold flower choices like king protea, kangaroo paw and flowering ginger with softer, more traditional roses and stock, as well as sequins, pearls and sterling silver. Whilst trumpet vases filled with towering greenery punctuated the mahogany credenza and framed Bella Bakery’s exquisite buttercream cake, decorated with old-fashioned icing filigree and strips of rhinestones.

Finally, our 1920s bride was outfitted in a backless ivory silk dress provided by Hot Couture Vintage Fashion, a fabulous one-of-a-kind headpiece by Calistoga in Bloom Millinery Design and a selection of found and heirloom vintage jewelry. The ladies at The Chop Shop Salon did an incredible job transforming our model’s long red hair into a faux bob with finger waves and pin curls; while Mary Kay specialist, Rani Patentreger, really hit the mark with soft, flawless eye makeup and a bold ‘Berry a la Mode’ lip. Her overarm bouquet and a burgundy 1931 Ford Model A were the perfect accessories!”

“Our sweetheart table was filled with soft, romantic details, including art deco cut-outs on the placecards, mercury glass votives with ribbon and rhinestones, gleaming sterling silver candlesticks, flower bundles tied on to the Chiavari chairs and an antique brooch pinned to the front of the table runner. The star of the show, aside from our lovely vintage bride, was the centerpiece: light pink flowers and eucalyptus overflowing from an antique silver serving dish.”
