Reception Decor

Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons – Tablescapes

Woo hoo for the weekend! No matter how quickly the weeks are going, aren’t you always ready for another weekend? Still, I can’t quite believe we’re in April already! And it being Friday can only mean one thing, time for one more post before the start of the weekend……When you think weddings there are the obvious details such as the wedding dress, groom, bouquet, bridesmaids, cake and invitations and yet often looked over details can create just as lasting memories on your big day, on you as well as your guests. I remember walking into our reception area after our portraits and with all the candles lit and the scent of the floral centre pieces it absolutely took my breath away. Sitting there that New Years Eve, surrounded by everyone I hold dear, basking in the warm light and love that filled the room, will be a memory that stays with me forever. Of course the important thing was having everyone there I loved, but the decor sure made the room (and memory) look pretty! Creating beautiful and memorable tables for your guests to sit at doesn’t have to involve gardens of expensive flowers or decadent cutlery, just a little thought and attention to detail. So for this week’s Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons I have rounded up 5 of the most elegant, creative and down right fabulous tablescapes from the last week…..

Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons - Tablescapes

1. We started the week in Italy with that beautifully romantic inspiration shoot and we return to Italy for this first tablescape, from a stunning Tuscan wedding by Amanda K Photography. I absolutely  adore the crochet place mats and the elegant colour palette…..

2. I am a smidge glamping obsessed at the moment, so just love the feel of the wildflowers and vintage cutlery all under a tent from a romantic Lake District garden wedding by Kitchener Photography…..

3. Table decor doesn’t have to be super feminine to be beautiful, as this masculine autumnal tablescape from HK Photography proves. Feathers are a great way to add opulence (with height and texture) on a budget to a centrepiece. And the use of coloured glass really lifts this table setting…..

4. Personal details never fail to create a talking point and lasting memory, like this table setting for the nuptials of a wedding stationery darling by Gia Canali. The table runners you glimpse in the photos were hand quilted by the bride’s first grade teacher (the mother of one of her bridesmaids) and have since been assembled into a beautiful quilt!…..

5. And you can’t beat the elegance of simplicity. I love the linen table cloths, mother of pearl cutlery, simple white tableware and the tall candles in this tablescape from a citrus glow inspiration shoot by Adam Barnes Fine Art Photogrphy. The (seemingly random, but I am sure well thought out) scattering of large blooms and oranges just soften the look and add romance……
