Oh gosh I have serious envy over the exquisitely embellished shoes of today’s bride and I just love the way sunshine streams into every single one of the beautiful images from this elegant hunter valley wedding!
The man behind the lens is James Frost, an epicly brilliant photographer (from good ol’ blighty originally…. no I’m not biased, just proud to meet another one making it in the wedding industry over here) Jame’s energy and passion for photography comes through in every photo, post and blog he produces and I am not so secretly hoping he and his weddings will become something of a regular on Chic Vintage Brides! You will understand why when you see the rest of today’s understated but incredibly chic real wedding - with more than an element of DIY!
Who better to introduce it, than the man himself James…….”Tim and Rhiannon’s Wedding day was far from that first gloomy day I met them. The sun was shining and a flurry of giggling bridesmaids with beautiful robes coloured with peacocks surrounded a stunning bride with very special shoes…..” he’s not wrong!
(see, see what I mean!?! I love them…..)
Tim and Rhiannon knew what was important to them for their wedding - having fun and making it memorable! A small intimate wedding, with those they cared about the most, allowed them to focus on the fun and spend time with each guest, rather than fleetingly greeting a mass of guests. As for the theme, they wanted simple elegance with a hint of French Provincial.
Groom Tim, wanting something classic and sophisticated, had his suit tailor made with a silk lapel and silk buttons, which he wore with a white shirt and Transformers cuff links. I so wish Mr E had found these before our wedding – he’s currently suggesting Octimus Prime as a name for our soon to be born niece/nephew, if it’s a boy of course (it would be a silly name for a girl!)
Unable to find THE dress for her in Australia, beautiful bride Rhiannon had her dress custom made whilst on a holiday overseas. “I fell in love with Pepe Botella’s collection (a Spanish Designer), which sadly is not stocked in Australia, this inspired my dress. I am a big shoe girl, so because my dress was very unadorned, I decided to go big with my shoes – they had Swarovski Crystals, pearls, lace and ribbon! I purchased them online and I loved them. ” Have I mentioned that I love them also??
It’s hard to believe the stunning venue, with the the most incredible mountain backdrop, is less than 2 hours outside Sydney! The Sebel Kirkton Park, provided the perfect place for both the ceremony and the reception. The Ceremony was held outside overlooking the mountains, followed by drinks and canapés in the beautiful Manor Garden, and the reception was held in the French Provincial inspired James Busby Room.
I love that the brides most memorable moment was…. “Seeing Tim as I walked down the aisle with tears in his eyes. “
A work colleague kindly made their cake, simply but elegantly decorated with fresh roses, it sounds just scrummy! “It was a white chocolate and citrus mud cake on the bottom layer and the top layer was dark chocolate mud cake.”
“I purchased a second dress, which I called “My Party Dress” that I changed into at about 9.30pm once all the formalities were completed and it was time to dance! I wanted to be able to move around and be comfortable while I danced…and show off my shoes “
And what does the bride say of the photographer? “We found James Frost only 2 months before the wedding. James was amazing from start to finish – he made us feel as though our wedding was as important to him as it was to us and he made us even more excited for the big day. He put 200% into our day and we could not have chosen better. The photographs captured a true timeline of the day and his talent for using the natural lighting and surroundings is amazing. “
Thanks SO much James for letting me share this elegant wedding through your exquisite photos and Rhiannon for the tremendous details you provided me with for this post!
