Parisien Romance – Inspiration for a Dove Grey & Peach Wedding
January 26, 2012
Sometimes inspiration for a palette comes from the most unlikely of places! Today’s ‘Parisien Romance‘ comes courtesy of a map no less (the map at the bottom left of this ‘Parisien Romance’ mood-board) Is there anything seemingly more mundane than a map?

This palette however is anything but mundane! The combination of ivory and grey with an accent of peach is deliciously chic, romantic and has a certain…… je ne sais quoi! It’s timeless, elegant and infinitely flexible, perfect for a wedding in any season.

This dreamy colour scheme demands an equally romantic bridal gown. Inspired by the city of the map, I went looking for the best french lace wedding dresses and found some heavenly designs.
Full of exquisite detail this lavish design from Alvina Valenta’s 2012 Collection is divine……
The pattern of the lace is ultra opulent and I love the dainty straps and floral applique……
Just look at the beautiful back detail……

With my love of long sleeved wedding dresses I just had to feature this dreamy design by Jim Hjelm with a belt accented waist, an open back and a sweeping train……
The silhouette created is breathtaking……

A slightly more contemporary shape from Tara Keely with it’s strapless sweetheart neckline, the scalloped, tiered skirt of this dress is sublime……

If lace isn’t for you, then something soft with texture, such as lots of romantic layers, like this Alvina Valenta design, would look equally as graceful……
How gorgeous is the sparkly cape - perfect for that evening transition (instantly creating two looks from one dress!)……

Do you know who makes the 3/4 length sleeved, open back lace dress?
Oh yes – it’s one of my favourite dresses ever! Its designed by Jim Hjelm Style 8211 from his Spring 2012 Collection. Take a look at the website – all of his designs are gorgeous!
