Ever since that dreamy Daylesford Wedding on a Lavender Farm by the incredible Jonathan Ong I have been loving Lavender – the flower, the colour and the scent. Not only is it’s beautiful scent ideal to create an ambiance for a vintage wedding, but it’s also super soothing – could anything be more perfect for a bride on her wedding day?

If you don’t love lavender though (if you can’t disassociate it from that overpowering perfume your great aunt used to wear), but love the colour, then Lavender Roses are the perfect way to still achieve the look.
There are endless possibilities of colours to pair with Lavender for that perfect palette – I love pale mint green, or vintage gold to give it warmth, or navy for a very rich palette, I have even seen it look delicious with cherry! But for this inspiration board I have gone for a subtle and stylish silver grey with a hint of sage…..

Details for a lavender wedding can be rustic, whimsical, opulent or as with my inspiration board, a little of each.
Such a soft, romantic and pretty combination of colours would really suit all the delicate lace wedding dresses we’ve seen on the 2013 Bridal runways. Can’t you just imagine this design from Monique Lhuillier in a lavender field?….
Or if you were looking for a fuller skirt, this Reem Acra design, with its lace adorned top layer of tulle…..
Oh and how lovely is this strapless column dress with a bit of texture on the skirt, also from Reem Acra‘s 2013 collection….
(Reem Acra is available exclusively from Anna Dafonte)
Or for a sophisticated, simpler and elegant dress, this slimline design from local designer Jennifer Regan…..

What colour would you like to see with Lavender? What would be, or is, your idea of a perfect palette for a Lavender infused wedding?
I don’t think this is the last we will be seeing of Lavender on CVB!

Thanks Nicola! I think lavender may be my new favourite colour
Thank you so much for posting this! My fiance and I actually (finally!) got to visit the lavender farm we are looking at having as our ceremony site today, I’m so excited
And it’s great to see others inspired by the same idea.
