Chic Vintage Bride – Sylvie Vartan
August 15, 2012
Today’s Chic Vintage Bride was married in April of 1965, but wearing a long sleeved dress and a beautiful hood, her attire would have been perfect for a Winter Wedding (did you see the Berry Beautiful post yesterday?)…..
French songstress Sophie Vartan married singer Johnny Hallyday in Lonconville, northern France, wearing an empire dress that is unmistakably 1960s with it’s trimmed hem. At the peak of her fame Sylvie was bigger than the Beatles, but apart from the hundreds of fans and paparazzi that greeted the happy couple outside the church, their wedding was intimate, traditional and not in the slightest rock’n'roll.
The little hand muff she carried is so sweet (and reminds me of the one carried by my Nan)….
I love this pic of friends and family gathering around the cake, and especially the face of the little one in front of Sylvie

French ladies really are the epitome of chic!
