What better time to begin a new regular post, than at the start of a New Year!
I love, adore, simply can not get enough of real vintage wedding images – ever since I saw the photo of my grandparents glamorous war time wedding, a copy of which I have treasured for the last 20 years. There is something so magical about the style, the fashion, the photography and that moment that captures the beautiful beginning of a marriage.
So, every Wednesday, starting from today, I will have a bit of a treat for you. A step back in time, with an image of a true Chic Vintage Bride!
Today to the 1920s (with which I am a little obsessed after finally watching Midnight In Paris last Friday) and Edwina Ashley……
who in July 1922 married Lord Louis Mountbatten at St. Margaret’s, Westminster.
I love this image of her gazing adoringly at her new husband……
Doesn’t she look divine with her simple orchid bouquet, that decadent satin dress and sumptuous veil, ooohhh and those pearls!
Such a handsome wedding and bridal party – including the Prince of Wales! How could anyone not swoon over these images?
I am looking forward to next Wednesday already
