Since the beginning of series one, I have been completely enamoured with the delightful characters, glorious sets and decadent costumes of Downton Abbey. Each and every episode with their impeccably written scripts and story lines have been enchanting, sweeping me away to a simpler time and place….

And ever since that Christmas Special ending set my heart racing, I have been counting down the days to Downton Abbey series 3 – and Mary & Matthew’s wedding! In fact…. can I possibly admit that I may have been even more excited about this wedding than I was THE royal wedding?!……

And it certainly did NOT disappoint!…..

And one of the dashing groom and his best man…..

I am so glad Mr E was out for the night and didn’t have to witness my squeals of delight as Mary’s dress was revealed and the tears of joy as they finally became husband and wife! I could hardly wait to pull this post together so I could take a closer look – the drop waist wedding dress is just so deco delicious and the tiara….. I do beleve it may be time for a tiara revival!

I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who doesn’t want to know, so spolier alert if you have only seen episode one and don’t wish to see more…..look away now!!

But could there possibly be a second Downton Wedding this series???

 Ooohh I am not sure I want to say this but…. I think I ♥ Edith’s dress more than Mary’s?! Its that beautiful embroidery and the pointed sleeves…..What do you think? Which is your favourite wedding dress?
